I've changed my name as I'm about to share a link that shows my house.

Next door is up for rent (and sale) and I was out in the garden whilst they had a viewing today, the viewer asked why I was letting my dog poo in the house they were viewings garden... umm I'm not! It's my garden!

So I set them straight and said well actually it's my garden and my dog can do whatever it likes... went back inside and googled the listing and there is our garden!!!

I'm going to have a word with the estate agents in the it office tomorrow as I want it to be extremely clear that that is our garden not next doors!!

It doesn't help that each garden is one step down from its respective house so I can see next doors garden from our french windows( to the right ) but they don't have a back door so have no access to their garden.

I've added a photo of our garden (the slate and sleepers to the right is next doors garden) and the link to the listing. The photo is from
The kitchen

Hollinwood Road, Disley, SK12

Omg!

Fiveletters · 30/11/2018 00:55

Not got much advice but wanted to say you live about 15 minutes drive away from me 😂

WinterfellWench · 30/11/2018 00:55

I don't get it.

Powerless · 30/11/2018 00:55

Did you not call them immediately?!

KathyBates · 30/11/2018 00:56

At least they described it as a beautiful garden!

Hisnamesblaine · 30/11/2018 00:57

Could u put up a small fence?

Emelene · 30/11/2018 00:58

That’s awful! Definitely correct them! Biscuit

frigginagents · 30/11/2018 00:58

So from the listing this is the view of the garden from
Their kitchen

I spoke to the person doing the viewing when I found out but they said they didn't do the listings. I was busy with meetings on the phone today but I've made an appointment to speak with lettings manager tomorrow

@Fiveletters haha it's a great area! Hello 👋

Do you own your house? If so, take your deeds with you

RebootYourEngine · 30/11/2018 01:01

They are CFs but that garden arrangement is weird. Most people would assume the ground outside their patio doors is their garden.

RCohle · 30/11/2018 01:02

Could you add some kind of trellis / fence to demarcate the boundary more clearly? I mean obviously next door are complete CF's but it doesn't look like you have much privacy.

KeiTeNgeNge · 30/11/2018 01:07

How odd! Yes, pop in to agents to get sorted ASAP.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee · 30/11/2018 01:11

I think it’s sort of understandable given the odd layout of the gardens. Also, if I’ve understood it correctly, the agents have included a photo of the rentals actual garden. The one in the picture??? They describe the garden as a cottage garden which describes the one in the picture of the garden rather than the view out the back doors of the rental. Iyswim. -

I don’t think you need a meeting with anyone. Surely just a quick phone call would sort it out.

BTW. It would put me off renting the house if dogs were allowed to poo right outside my back doors. It’s gross! 🤮

frigginagents · 30/11/2018 01:16

@Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that's fair enough. I tend to take him out and let him do his business then it goes straight into the wheelie bin. It's not like it's left in the garden for months but it is our garden!

It's so weird isn't it? The set up I mean.

BobLemon · 30/11/2018 01:21

I can’t believe that place is £825pcm!!

Also, is picture 10 the correct garden? But the open doors in the earlier pic are onto your garden?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee · 30/11/2018 01:23

Yuk! 😧You are making it worse by saying you put the dog mess in the wheelie bin that’s stored right outside the back doors. Doesn’t it honk in the summer?

frigginagents · 30/11/2018 01:23

@BobLemon yes that's correct!

I know it's a bit expensive for round here

OP posts:
KathyBates · 30/11/2018 01:33

I'd be over the moon if I could rent a 3 bed for 825pcm!

OP- don't think you're going to win either way with the dog poo- surely most people put it in their bins?!

Angharad07 · 30/11/2018 01:42

@weeeeeeeeeeee

I don’t think op cares about how other people view her dog poo disposal methods...it’s HER garden, her dog could be pole dancing in the garden and it would be no one else’s business

HenTen · 30/11/2018 01:48

Crikey! That seems very expensive for Disley (used to live in New Mills) You need to ensure that the agent makes it clear to potential tenants which bit is their garden.

Jux · 30/11/2018 01:57

So the french doors in the listing are theirs but the garden outside the doors is yours? How do they get to their garden? Where is their parking space and how do they access it?

frigginagents · 30/11/2018 02:07

@Jux parking is on the road outside the front of the house. They get into their garden by opening their french doors and it's diagonally across from their french doors (almost always blocked off by their next door neighbour parking his car in the communal passage way! Which is a new thread entirely)!

OP posts:
frigginagents · 30/11/2018 02:09

But yes if we are in our garden we have a direct view into their kitchen. Which is weird.

Totally barking!
