Kievs and pasta?!?!?!?!

DP was tasked with picking up an easy tea for tonight so we can have an early night after a busy couple of weeks.

AIBU to be aghast that he got chicken kievs (yum.) AND PASTA?!?!?!

They don't go together, right?

Kievs and chips, yes. Kievs and pasta, abomination.

Sometimes if I'm home alone I have kievs with a packet of super noodles. My secret shame!

Good grief only plain boiled rice and lightly steamed veg go with chicken Kiev

Chicken Milanese is one of my favourites, eaten it in all sorts of italian restaurants and NOT ONCE has it turned up with pasta! Usually salad and a few sauteed type rosemary potatoes.

We'd have chips/mash and/or salad with kievs here.

I am a bit uncomfortable mixing food cultures like that! It'd be like serving bolognese with a yorkshire.

That sounds fucking delicious and I want it.

I am particularly starving right now to be fair, but I’m pretty sure I would still find it tasty even if I wasn’t! Pasta is definitely an accompaniment and not a dish in its own right, IMHO.

I hate you all. I met DP in the pub on the way home and we decided to get dinner there. By some incredible twist of fate they had Chicken Kiev on the menu (sans pasta) so I immediately ordered it, only to be presented with a tiny, burned, crunchy slab of breaded chicken without a teaspoon of garlic butter in sight. I’m going to sleep dreaming of oozy garlicky deliciousness

(They also had the absolute worst mulled wine I have ever tasted, like clove flavoured mouthwash heated up )

I wouldn't chose it or cook it but I bet I would enjoy it if it was put in front of me. I like the sound of the butter making the sauce.
