We start this new thread on a brighter note: the mid-terms were a win for the Democrats, securing the House of Representatives and further seats in the Senate. This means more scrutiny for POTUS and the GOP, and bargaining power.

He’s still a feckless, vain bully, oddly admired by some varieties of Christians - enjoy the cartoon by Mike Luckovich.

Earlier Thursday, Trump told reporters that he would still "probably" meet with Putin, despite a recent incident in which Russian ships opened fire on and seized three Ukrainian vessels near Crimea.

This is becoming fascinating.

But if the meeting doesn’t happen who will tell Putin to ‘stop it’?

This is perhaps the most significant issue I’ve seen raised so far: does Cohen contradict Trump’s recent written answers to Mueller specifically on the Moscow Trump Tower project. If so and Cohen version is corroborated, Trump is guilty of a false statement.

I like to think that Rosenstein is true and taking a lot of flak because he is needed there. I also like to think that the person who plays him in the movie will win an Oscar for best supporting actor. The big win will go to whoever plays Mueller.

Well, gosh. Trump seems to be panicking somewhat given his WITCH-HUNT! tweets followed by a series of book-peddling endorsements, none of which he has read but have TRUMP on the cover in vaguely praiseworthy terms.

He repeats the below frequently - so his followers do also - but it’s worth noting that Mueller cannot investigate Hillary, even if there was a need. It isn’t within his current mandate. Investigating POTUS is.

Did you ever see an investigation more in search of a crime? At the same time Mueller and the Angry Democrats aren’t even looking at the atrocious, and perhaps subversive, crimes that were committed by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. A total disgrace!

Even the (fired from the White House) Dr Gorka doesn’t quite get it. He’s taking aim at the 2016 platform change regarding Ukraine. Mueller has the capacity to investigate all connections to Russia, and this would include possible policy pressure from outside sources (for instance). That’s just one possibility I came up with thinking for one moment. I’m sure Dr G., with his immense experience, could come up with much more.

WASHINGTON – Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Trump’s efforts to build a skyscraper in Moscow has led him to ask questions about the role two of the president’s children played in attempting to secure a Russian real estate deal, sources tell Yahoo News.
