We start this new thread on a brighter note: the mid-terms were a win for the Democrats, securing the House of Representatives and further seats in the Senate. This means more scrutiny for POTUS and the GOP, and bargaining power.

He’s still a feckless, vain bully, oddly admired by some varieties of Christians - enjoy the cartoon by Mike Luckovich.

Um, maybe because California & Arizona have some of the busiest border crossings in the US? And that we both have wonderful, vibrant Hispanic populations that draw others to live in them? And that cases are filed where the plaintiffs live?

Bolleaux, I don't know. It's not an actual declaration of martial law, just some 'memorandum' that allows troops to protect border guards up to and including using deadly force. But does not give them search, seizure, and arrest powers.

Once again, it's a 'maneuver' that hopefully will have Congress scrambling to see if it's legal. And if they can do anything about it if it isn't.

But to me it feels like 'testing the waters'.
