Dhapeer · 21/10/2018 12:35

2 slices naice ham from deli
1 tomato
1 hard boiled egg
A spoonful of coleslaw
3 slices beetroot
Sprinkling of grated cheese over the tomato

Are we talking 300 or 600 here?

I'd say closer to 300 than 600, maybe 400?

LuckyAmy1986 · 21/10/2018 12:37

Definitely closer to 600

LikeIcare · 21/10/2018 12:37

Just MFP it.

Galvantula · 21/10/2018 12:39

depends how big the cheese sprinkle is imo.

I second putting it into MY Fitness Pal. easy way without any googling.

Dhapeer · 21/10/2018 12:39

WTF is MFP?

Where's the actual salad? Is that with lettuce or mixed leaves? Without Its just a platter isn't it?

DollyWilde · 21/10/2018 12:40

At a rough guess I’d go:

150 ham
100 egg
Coleslaw - depends on the spoon but 100
Beetroot and tomato - 50
Cheese - again depends how much but anything from 50 - 100

So 450 - 550 really, depending on coleslaw and cheese quantities.

RLOU30 · 21/10/2018 12:41

That doesn’t sound like a salad to me however I estimate at 400

Jaxtellerswife · 21/10/2018 12:41

My Fitness Pal
It works out the calories on almost anything

Aquamarine1029 · 21/10/2018 12:41

Closer to 600, if not over.

Gwenhwyfar · 21/10/2018 12:42

"Where's the actual salad? Is that with lettuce or mixed leaves? Without Its just a platter isn't it?"

Ha ha. Salad in Britain = any cold food
Seen a salad bar a supermarket? Full of pasta, rice, etc.

Dhapeer · 21/10/2018 12:42

Ok, so not exactly low calorie.

Platter/salad/schmalad who gives a fuck lol

noeffingidea · 21/10/2018 12:44

You have to weigh cheese to get an exact calorie count. Look on the packet to work out how many calories in the ham. A medium size hard boiled egg is 70 cals (offhand). Coleslaw - I would measure that if O was calorie counting because it can be quite high.

Dhapeer · 21/10/2018 12:44

guess I'll be walking into town rather than taking the bus!

OP posts:
Brazenhussy0 · 21/10/2018 12:47

The coleslaw and cheese will bump that up by a lot unless you’re being extremely conservative with spoonfuls. Definitely 600+ calories.

For a healthier salad I’d have 2 boiled eggs, leafy greens, tomato, and more beetroot. Maybe a tiny sprinkle of grated cheese.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 21/10/2018 12:53

It’s a bit Lardy! Replace with nuts , raisins and herbs spring onions possibly to get the flavour but be healthier ?

Gwenhwyfar · 21/10/2018 13:06

"Platter/salad/schmalad who gives a fuck lol"

Well, it's kind of important if you think it's 'light' food and it's not, especially if you want to lose weight.

LikeIcare · 21/10/2018 13:07

It's a bit lardy lol.

Just have a lentil and some dust.

adaline · 21/10/2018 13:09

About 600 calories.

Which is absolutely fine for one meal!

TheStoic · 21/10/2018 13:11

How long is a piece of string?

We’re all guessing unless you can tell us how many grams of ham, cheese etc.

caroloro · 21/10/2018 13:16

Looking at that I'd say around 500

VladmirsPoutine · 21/10/2018 13:20

It's an egg, a bit of cheese, ham and other bits - not an XL pizza so I think you could manage to get away with getting the bus to town.

Ilovecookiedough · 21/10/2018 13:22

475 from what I worked out

HollowTalk · 21/10/2018 13:24

If you like that sort of food and are trying to lose weight, a low carb diet would be much better than a calorie counting diet. If you made your own coleslaw, you could eat as much as you liked of any of that meal.
