Daniel Dale
@ddale8
This is the most dramatic "sir" story Trump has ever told. Like a lot of his "sir" stories, it takes place backstage at a rally...though there was no rally in Ohio five weeks ago, and though he previously said this encounter happened when the woman stood up "at a meeting.

Sooo, if this is true that just means he's doing the same thing that the 2020 GOP candidate has been doing all his adult life. Sad!

I have to say when I see Michael Avenatti mooted to be POTUS I think dear god NO. It's great that he's a thorn in the side of DT, but let him just be that. He has no experience and now I see his high spending I think double NO.
Same as Oprah. I'm hoping the american public have learnt their lesson as far as celebrities running a country Grin

ohmymimi · 22/10/2018 16:22

Smile cozie
It struck me too, Across, there are similarities. His star will fade.

AcrossthePond55 · 22/10/2018 16:26

No worries Roussette. Avenatti has as much chance of being nominated in 2020 as I have and he knows it. It's all to keep him in the limelight.

OP posts:
AcrossthePond55 · 22/10/2018 16:29

Yes it will cozie. There have been lots of 'celebrity lawyers' here who have had their moment in the sun and then faded away. I appreciate what he's done for Ms Daniels and his being a thorn in the side to Scrotus and GOP. But he's edging perilously close to the edge of believing his own publicity and that's never a wise thing.

Van Jones, the man who lauded the moment Stinky became 'presidential '. Kushner will really get a grillingWink
Haberman has a lot more, but it is not on one thread.
Maggie Haberman
@maggieNYT
Van Jones interview Kushner at "Citizen by CNN" event starting now. Jones asks, "How did you get this job? You have like the dopest job in the world, the secretary of everything...how did you wind up in this position?"

Kushner: "I did not plan my life to go into politics...my father in law announced he was running for president...I took on a lot of responsibilities."

It's the way he tells them!
Even a meandering ramble through some historical facts comes out like a tall story.
Daniel Dale
@ddale8
Rare moment: I sent a Trump story to an expert for fact-checking and the expert told me the story was accurate. Historian Allen Guelzo, director of the Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College, says the president was correct about Lincoln, Lee and Grant:

What we don't know about
@realDonaldTrump's plans for a Saudi hotel:
--who pitched him on the idea
--who his in-country partners were
--why the idea fizzled.

Trump says he never made a dollar on the project, and the hotel was never built.

What a vile charade:
'Saudi king and prince phone Khashoggi's son to give condolences.
Turkish president says details of journalist’s killing will be revealed in parliament'
The Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has called the son of Jamal Khashoggi to express condolences on the death of the journalist, who was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in disputed circumstances.
King Salman made a similar condolence call, the kingdom said early on Monday, as international pressure on the Saudis to provide an satisfactory account of what happened to Khashoggi continued to rise.
The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has said details of the Washington Post journalist’s killing “will be revealed in all its nakedness” in parliament on Tuesday, the same day a glitzy investment forum in Riyadh spearheaded by the crown prince is to take place.
