@PhilipRucker
When we asked Trump in the Oval today if he‘d seen recordings showing Khashoggi’s killing, he said he hadn’t. Then he asked Mike Pompeo if he had. He hadn’t. Then Trump said he had asked Turkey for them and “we’re going to be seeing it very soon.” (link: www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-vows-severe-punishment-if-us-determines-saudi-arabia-killed-khashoggi/2018/10/13/dbefa658-cee0-11e8-920f-dd52e1ae4570_story.html washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…

Did he have anything to say about the devastated communities in Florida? Not interested until he can milk it for a photo op?

Trump is in a very good mood today. After meeting Pastor Brunson in Oval & taking questions there from reporters, he took another 12 minutes of questions on North Lawn as he prepared to jet to Kentucky -- where he said 99,000 people are trying to get into a 10,000-seat arena.

Thanks for the new thread, Across. There was absolutely a deal. Shady bastard. Think Kushner/Israel/Saudi/Turkey/lotsofmoney and you’re on the way.

TheClaws · 14/10/2018 00:24

Not at all a problem. Trump says “other measures” can be taken to punish Saudi Arabia for the disappearance of Khashoggi - just not economic, pls!

Never let politics or human rights get in the way of a good arms deal.

Thanks for the new thread.

Reading back the thread. I'm going to put those Deplorable Cards in my wish list.
Hopefully it will be useful when the courts start working.

mimi's link to NRA piece above is interesting. I thought they'd been quiet recently - a very welcome occurrence!

On Radio 4 this morning: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0000pfj. Provactive content and the mixture of disbelief and disgust with which repeats 'Trump?' is quite wonderful, I think.

Yeah, unfortunately there may be a simple explanation for the drop in NRA campaign spending. That graph shows that it nearly doubled between 2014 and 2016, ie to elect Trump.

Supposing that were Russian money, the Russians have now bought the White House and don't need to spend again.

Article below is about comparatively small admitted donations by Russian-linked entities, but also about continuing investigations into donations via shell-companies and other means.

NRA got more money from Russia-linked sources than earlier reported
www.politico.com/story/2018/04/11/nra-russia-money-guns-516804

Campaign records show that the NRA was Trump’s biggest supporter, spending about $30 million on him during the campaign, a much larger amount than it has spent on previous presidential candidates.
