I think you should take the cat to the vet. It could get tangled up inside her. And reconsider leaving your child and cat unattended.

Call your vets out of hours, or find another local one to call. I know a puppy that ate one and it caused serious complications. Thankfully he’s now fine but he was seriously unwell

There's the possibility of it blocking the intestinal tract, keep cat inside for a week to make sure it's pooing as normal.

For larger dogs it can pass through, but for smaller animals it can cause problems as it stretches out in the intestines. They are as dangerous as string. They can cause parts of the intestines to die.

Its much easier for the vet to remove it from her stomach than her intestines, so get her straight to the surgery.

Take her straight in so it can be removed before it goes lower.

I would be a really irresponsible (and make believe, as I don’t have one) cat owner as I wouldn’t have worried about that- I’d presume it would pass through.
My dog would eat very long pieces of grass when picking up balls in long overgrowth and they’d come out. They’d half hang out his bottom and we would stand on it and get him to move forward. Pretty grim but he was fine.
