Cats don't rely on visual cues much when they decide to eat something, it's really by smell. So the cat isn't stupid, your DD tricked it.

You haven't said how old your DD is but if she's old enough to know better then I think she's disgusting. I imagine she will be as you wouldn't leave a young child with one of those wrappers either as it could have been dangerous for your daughter otherwise.

I think you should seek advice from a vet. The wrapper is long, thin and tough and could cause major issues.

As a plan B keep a very very close eye on the cat. Make sure you know where it is at all times, check it regularly through the night.

Cats are extremely good at disguising any discomfort through so a vet would be the best call.
