AIBU to be livid how dolphins are portrayed compared to how they are?

I am angry and sick and tired of how dolphins try and make out they are nice and friendly and cute when they are anything but. They are one of the most aggressive species in the animal kingdom, regularly involved in GANG RAPES of other dolphins that sometimes goes on for days, they also kill their OWN children so that the mother pays more attention to her husband dolphin so he can have sex with her without her being distracted by her child and they also are aggressive to humans when nobody is looking (I.e in the sea when nobody is around, not when they have an audience like at a sea world centre) But everyone says “aww dolphins are so cute and so friendly” but their not.

I think it’s because they look like they are always smiling and laughing that people think they are cute, but to me they look like they have evil eyes and cackling rather than laughing. People say alligators and crocodiles and snakes are evil what about dolphins? People only see the tame ones that like to show off to humans and do tricks and let us swim with them and stroke them and think all dolphins are like that but the ones in the wild are a different matter altogether.

Plus, people say that dolphins are clever because they use clicks to communicate with each other. Has nobody stopped to think that they may be clicking and conspiring amongst themselves?

I’m actually fuming, only because I just got back from someone showing holiday pics and they were going on and on about the dolphins and how they were so cute and I told them dolphins aren’t cute and they are dangerous and would they swim with and pet crocodiles? They Didn’t get why it was the same but any animal can turn against you and I have even saw footage of a dolphin purposely try to drown a human and drag them underwater. AND they also kill other sea baby animals and play volleyball with them, they don’t even eat them or are threatened by them, they just do it for a laugh. Why are they seen as friendly animals?

Crocodiles are not dinosaurs. Birds are dinosaurs.

one of the cunts ejaculated on my hand

I had to look this up on the internet for clarity, but now I'm really quite confused. And disturbed. Has this thread taken a turn for the worse?

Sorry to jump in but was intrigued by anti robin comments (as they’re my fave bird since I was a child) so did some digging. Not too incriminating as suggests all birds are territorial:

Despite being a seemingly friendly bird, the robin is hugely territorial and very defensive of its territory and I presume that reflects us as an island nation that we will stand our ground," said naturalist David Lindo, who organised the ballot.
In its coverage of the vote, the Guardian said the robin was "openly aggressive" and the Daily Telegraph said it had a reputation among ornithologists for "aggressive territorialism".
It's true that they "jealously guard" their patches, says Grahame Madge of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). A male will seek to stake out enough territory to provide food for it, a female and their young.

The answer:

Robins forcefully protect their territory from incursions by other robins
But other species are just are aggressive.
Robins are one of only a few bird species that hold their territory all year round - males do not migrate in the winter. They will violently attack a stuffed robin which has been left in its territory, pecking it vociferously and flapping wings vigorously against it.
But they are no more aggressive than most other species, Madge says. "It's something that all birds will do." When it comes to a confrontation, the losing robin will usually withdraw before the conflict becomes fatal. Notwithstanding "bird table rivalry", they co-exist peacefully with other species with different diets.
They're only seen as aggressive because of "the contrast with their reputation as a friendly bird" and their place in folklore and on Christmas cards, say Madge

The Simpsons predicted this Grin

Lweji · 08/10/2018 21:57

There is such a thing as female cunt ejaculation. Look it up.

Kithulu · 08/10/2018 21:58

I agree with you OP and have also felt this about dolphins. I have watched a few documentaries about their behaviour. I think it was David Attenborough who showed the gang rape aspect - horrific - they are not the cute animals they are made out to be. Many animals aren't.
Orcas chasing, exhausting and drowning whale calves just to eat their tongues was also very upsetting.

Banterlope · 08/10/2018 22:19

Look it up.

I did, it's disturbing. Who thought a dolphin could ejaculate from both ends? Also, it's not very sexy.

ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 22:21

I am so going to get a stuffed robin and put it in my garden.

UpstartCrow · 08/10/2018 22:41

Only male dolphins and ducks gang rape. #NADALT

OutPinked · 08/10/2018 23:05

You tell the gang raping, mother murdering BASTARDS. They deserve culling, can’t abide their smug little fuck faces anyway.

MollyHuaCha · 08/10/2018 23:08

But they look so smiley...

BigChocFrenzy · 08/10/2018 23:11

The US navy has trained dolphins to detect mines and to detect & kill enemy frogmen.
They've used them in action in the Gulf / Middle East

I find that more worrying than dolphins in their natural envíronmemt

https://www.businessinsider.com/the-us-navys-combat-dolphins-are-serious-military-assets-2015-3?IR=T

Trainers used the mammals "to track down enemy divers, outfitting them with a device strapped onto the head that contains a [simulated] compressed gas needle," Webb writes. "Once the dolphin has tracked you down, it butts you; the needle shoots out and pokes you, creating an embolism."

I want whatever you’ve been smoking!
Sounds like you’ve been shunned by a dolphin at sea life world or something, and you’ve never got over it 😂. Seriously can’t tell you how much I’m laughing 😂

DioneTheDiabolist · 09/10/2018 01:54

YABU...mainly because ITS JUST A FUCKING DOLPHIN

That's what they want you to think Witchofwisteria. They are hanging around us a bit too much,Hmm they are pure cunts and if what BigChocFrenzy says is true, they are already trained assassins of man.Shock

Wake up! They are evil fuckers and they're tricking us into tooling them up.Angry

Oh my god I love that this is still running!

Molly it’s not a smile it’s a self satisfied smirk

AvantFunk · 09/10/2018 02:21

I've always been a little bit envious of people like OP who can just get so far out of the box on recreational drugs. I've tried a few of them and never come to any profoundly ridiculous musings like this.

TheMonkeyMummy · 09/10/2018 03:00

🤣🤣🤣

Teacher22 · 09/10/2018 06:49

Anthropomorphism much.

Animals exist largely by instinct and have no human level of consciousness so cannot be held to account for their actions.

Well , I say that, but the kitten on YouTube who keeps pushing the dog back through the cat flap looks as if it know what it is doing.

headinhands · 09/10/2018 06:55

I feel your pain op. I thought badgers were all cute and special and the 'poster animal' of peace loving woodland animals, and then I found out they EAT BABY RABBITS.

Allycumpooster · 09/10/2018 07:42

It’s the same with sheep, people think they are just harmless fluffy farm animals.
They are the BORG I tell you!

curious8 · 09/10/2018 08:00

Animals exist largely by instinct and have no human level of consciousness so cannot be held to account for their actions.

OK, but you can say the same about Brett Kavanaugh. What about the victims?

MooseAndSquirrel · 09/10/2018 08:07

Op I totally agree!!

The slippery fake fishy bastards have given me rage for years... They are savage and I've never understood why people think they are adorable. They are sex driven rapey knobheads.... At least a shark is honest about their bitey nature.

Pandas are also stupid and clearly want to die - no idea why we give them so much effort and money!
They are obsessed with bamboo, that they are not only terrible at digesting, but as its got such low nutritional value they need to spend all day munching it... No wonder they can't be arsed with a shag... They are too tired!
Ffs have some meat or dam vegetables (that you can actually digest) you fluffy idiots and stop being so bloody dramatic!

Also, pp saying we can't project morals on wild animals, it's nature so they have no concept of consent/rape,
Well then, why are there so many courtship displays all through the animal kingdom... Males dance, flounce, show their colours and/or butt's, fight off other males, flex about, all in the hope that the ladies take a fancy and let them have their wicked way.

Plus we don't actually know animals don't have concepts of rape and right/wrong.
We just assume - for all we know, they all could have highly evolved sense of right and wrong but, they just enjoy being bastards.
Clicky, quacking rapey bastards.

(no drugs or gin here... Sadly, just some of us see the truth...)

onegiftedgal · 09/10/2018 09:16

Sure you haven't confused them with orcas?
Love the irony of you thinking that visiting a Sea Life Centre is showing kindness to these animals whereas what they do naturally in the wild should be stopped in some way - I'm in stitches 😂😂😂

MorningsEleven · 09/10/2018 09:30

No wonder they can't be arsed with a shag... They are too tired!

They're probably anaemic. They should eat some fish, it turns dolphins sex mad.
