Clarich007 · 06/10/2018 10:40

Well done for your weight loss.
I'm 5ft 3ins and 9st 13lbs.Not too bad but lots of wobbly bits .Size12/14.Used to be size 10 but have put weight on since i've retired.Keep going you are doing so well.Losing weight is not easy

GoneForFood · 06/10/2018 10:42

Almost the same, 5’8 and 14.12 and I’m a 16 bottom and a 16/18 top depending on style/shop

iliketomoveitmoveitMOVEIT · 06/10/2018 10:48

Wow, well done, you must be so proud Smile

Honestly I think everyone is different and it depends on your body shape. If you carry the weight on your bottom half, you’ll need a smaller coat than if you have a bigger tummy and boobs.

Seasalt; John Lewis; M&S; Debenhams; Boden - all go up to about 22 or more in coats, so you should have plenty of choice. I would always get a size bigger in a coat, to allow room for a jumper underneath too.

EleanorLavish · 06/10/2018 10:49

I'm 5'8" and I used to weigh 220lbs (15 and a half stone). It genuinely just crept up on me, and suddenly realised that it wasn't going to go away and I would have to do something or I would be one of those poor souls that can barely walk for the weight.
i have tried to adopt a healthier way of life, and life style change as opposed to a diet.
No foods are barred, eat sensibly, do regular exercise that you like, don't beat yourself up about food.
I'm just about to drop in to the 12 stone bracket,so much happier and healthier!
You have done amazingly well OP! Gold star for you.

dementedpixie · 06/10/2018 10:52

I'm 5'6" and around your weight. I wear an 18 bottoms and 20/22/24 top depending on make and style (36GG boobs)

stevie69 · 06/10/2018 10:58

Well done you: amazing achievement Smile

I'm 5'7" and at that weight, I was a size 20 but, as you can see, it does vary as we're all different. Go and have some fun trying stuff on Smile

Whereismumhiding2 · 06/10/2018 11:00

Taller & bit lighter, but I'm size 18 having been 10-12 for most of my life until middle age and the munchies hit! Well done on your weight loss!! That's super and inspiring to us bigger women who also want to lose weight!!
How did you do it?

2cats2many · 06/10/2018 11:04

That's bloody amazing fist pump

Thistles24 · 06/10/2018 11:05

I was size 18 top and 16 bottom at that weight and 5ft 8. Desperate to get back to it!!

MamaBearThius · 06/10/2018 11:05

I'm 5.7 and last week was 15st8 (this week 15st 3 😊😊😊) and I'm a comfortable 14 although i can squeeze into some 12s. Congratulations on your weight loss

southnownorth · 06/10/2018 11:06

At that weight I was a size 16/18.

We done OP, you have done amazingly well.

Peridot1 · 06/10/2018 11:10

I’m 5ft 7 and currently 14 st 11. I’m still a 20 in most things. 18-20 in some but all my coats are still a 20.

I’m an apple shape. It does totally depend on shape as well as height and weight. As evidenced by MamaBearThius being a 14 or a 12!

flirtygirl · 06/10/2018 11:10

At that weight I'm size 14 bottom half and 16 mostly 18 top half due to J cup breasts.

I'm heavy but firm, so obviously carry a lot of muscle.

I like being 15.5 but my ideal is 14 stone and a small size 14.

Im currently losing weight to get back there as I'm hoovering around 17 stone and a size 16-18 jeans size and a 20 on top.

Peridot1 · 06/10/2018 11:11

And yes - bloody well done. That’s an amazing result and you have done SO much for your health.

flirtygirl · 06/10/2018 11:11

I'm 5 foot 7

Lolly86 · 06/10/2018 11:12

I'm nearly 5ft 8 and around 14st and a generous 16 on bottom 16/18 on top dependant one style to allow for boobs.
Last year is was around 15st 7 and a size 18 roughly

Lolly86 · 06/10/2018 11:12

Well done you

orangejuicer · 06/10/2018 11:15

If you don't quite make the next 2-3lb by 1 November but you maintain your current weight then absolutely buy the coat anyway. You have done brilliantly and deserve it.

thisneverendingsummer · 06/10/2018 11:16

WOW well done OP! Grin Bet you look - and feel great.

I would say a 5' 7" person who is 15 and a half stone would be a size 18. Maybe 20.

thisneverendingsummer · 06/10/2018 11:17

I mean a 20 to feel comfy, coz you don't want things clinging and pulling.

FermatsTheorem · 06/10/2018 11:18

Congrats - that's a really amazing achievement, and I hope you find an awesome coat to celebrate. Grin Flowers

Notajourno · 06/10/2018 11:19

It’s impossible to say as shop sizing is so flaming inconsistent due to poor cut.

I have found that in Debenhams collection I’m a size 18. I am 5,4, 15,6 with a well proportioned hourglass.

I find clothes with a bit of stretch best as it compensates for a bad cut.

I used to be twenty stone and didn’t buy a coat for years.

RedSkyLastNight · 06/10/2018 11:20

I think this thread shows that weight is not guide to size/shape!

I'm the same height but 13 stone and can't fit in less than a size 16 (sometimes even a size 18).

FuzzyCustard · 06/10/2018 11:21

I'm 5'8" and at 14st 8lbs I was a size 18, occasionally a 16. (I carry weight on my top half).

I'm now 12st 3lbs and a size 14 after several months of sensible eating, no snacking and lots of exercise.

Congratulations on your weight loss OP...you should definitely get yourself a lovely new coat!

AjasLipstick · 06/10/2018 11:32

I am 5.7 and weigh 12 stone...Im a 14 on the bottom and a 12 on top. I'm pear shaped.
