What size are you? Just 2-3 lbs away and hoping to reward myself with a lovely new coat on 1. November Smile I used to be nearly 23 stone Blush

Oldraver · 06/10/2018 11:33

MamaBear where do you buy your clothes from to be a 14/12 at 15 stone ?

noeffingidea · 06/10/2018 11:33

Congratulations, OP!
I think you just have to try them on, tbh. Just have a good look at the style you like and try the ones on that you think will fit. And remember, the label in the garment is just that (if it's larger than you're hoping for), it's the changes to your body that you have made that are important.

AamdC · 06/10/2018 11:33

Well done op.on your weight loss sorry to derail a bit but how did you lose the weight? Im doing slimming world and have 5/6 stone to lose.

TomHardysNextWife · 06/10/2018 11:33

I'm almost the same weight OP from way over 19 stone Blush.

I've just bought a jacket and coat from Joules in an 18, they are a really good fit even with a big bust like mine. I've also got a longer length one in Moleskin from Seasalt and the 20 only just (and I mean only just) does up. It really depends on the make to be honest. My outdoor walking coat is from Tog24 and I've got an 18 in that and it's got plenty of room for jumpers underneath.

Well done, you've done amazingly well - you must be very proud Flowers.

MamaBearThius · 06/10/2018 11:33

Yes I've always been very heavy
I had an ED a few years ago and was a size 4 (painfully ill) and I still weighed 8 stone. Dense bones maybe?

emwithme · 06/10/2018 11:35

At that weight I'm a 14-16 bottom half and a 16-18 top (yay boobs), but will go for a 20/22 in a winter coat to allow for jumper room.

TwllBach · 06/10/2018 11:35

I'm the same height and a few pounds lighter - I'm generally a 16/18 on bottom and a 14/16 in dresses/tops depending on cut as I am (or I was before I piled on the weight) an hour glass figure. I've got big hips and big boobs... even when I weighed 8 stone there was generally 2 dress sizes difference between my top and bottom.

MamaBearThius · 06/10/2018 11:36

I'm a 12 in Next if it's the tall range
Mainly a 14 in primark and asda although the 12-14 jammies fit perfectly.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 06/10/2018 11:40

My SIL is now 15.4 from 18 stone and is 5ft6. She’s a solid 14!

(Apart from primark now as they’re sizes have all gone crazy)

QueenoftheNights · 06/10/2018 11:46

Its impossible to say. My mum has to buy a 14 in tops as she has big boobs and a 12 in bottoms , but she weighs 8st 4lbs. It depends how your weight is distributed.

Iamtheoneandonly2018 · 06/10/2018 11:47

Am.5'7 and 14.5 stone. Used to be 12.5 stone and size 14 bottom 16 top ( boobs) but was on citalipram. And put on 2 stone. Off it now and waiting for the weight to come off ( eating less and moving more ) as now a 16 bottom and 18/20 top............

Randomun · 06/10/2018 11:57

This just shows how crap sizing is. I'm 5ft 7. 9stone. And a size 12.

Someone my height can have 6 stone on me and still be the same size all down to having a nicer shape.

Get yourself that coat, you've done brilliantly and you deserve it.

mum11970 · 06/10/2018 12:01

Go to the shop and try on what you fancy. Shop sizes vary hugely and due to everyone’s different body shapes weight and height do not equal a certain size. Well done on your weight loss.

Winkybum · 06/10/2018 12:02

5'6" 12st 10lb and I am a 16 or 18 depending on shop.

1stoneEverymonth · 06/10/2018 12:05

Thanks for your replies Smile.

I started my weight loss journey back in November 2017. I did intermittent fasting and bought a bike. I'd only eat between 4 and 10 pm. An hour before breaking my fast I would do an hours exercise, either walking or on my bike in front of the Tv. I would then break my fast with some fruit, followed by a main meal consisting of chicken/steak or fish with veg or salad, would also eat soup. Mainly lentils soups made with chicken/fish super delicious, healthy and filling. Around 6pm I'd have a small bowl of Greek yogurt with banana/blueberries and some honey That would kill all the sweet cravings.

I would also drink black coffee during the day (loved my tea), took some time to get use to but it suppressed my appetite until 4pm.

1stoneEverymonth · 06/10/2018 12:07

Intermittent fasting was really hard in the beginning, I was so used to stuffing my face with teas and biscuits first thing in the morning, but as time went by my stomach got smaller and I couldn't eat as much.

Ollivander84 · 06/10/2018 12:07

Same weight, 5ft 10 and size 14/16

Thymeout · 06/10/2018 12:09

It's not just boob size. I have broad shoulders and back. B/C cup bra. Same height. I could only squeeze into a 12 at my thinnest, having lost too much weight through illness. You could hang a hat on my hips. Scrawny arms and thighs.

I bought a size 12 Reiss jacket to celebrate getting better, but it's a bit tight across my back now. Don't know how much I weigh, but from general squidginess I could do with losing half a stone, but I4 is right for me. Any less and I'd have a scraggy neck.

lovetherisingsun · 06/10/2018 12:13

MASSIVE congratulations to you!!!! You've worked so hard, you treat yourself to that coat!!!

81Byerley · 06/10/2018 12:18

18-20 I'd say. And well done on your fantastic achievement!

babbscrabbs · 06/10/2018 12:26

Wow OP you have put in so much effort and been so consistent over the past year, you should be so proud of yourself.

You do need to try them on though, I was a size 16 in some shops at 11 stone, I don't weigh much for my size. Not much muscle!

If you order on ASOS you can get free delivery and returns and they also have a size calculator thing where they can help you figure out which size to order in which brand/item.

wictional · 06/10/2018 12:29

Size 18/20 depending on style! (36H chest)

EmilyRosiEl · 06/10/2018 12:31

Hello,

Well done for your amazing weight loss!

Would that be about a size 20? I'm 5ft 6 and currently 14st 12 and I'm an 18, although some things fit better in a 20 depending on the shop. I was 10st a couple of years ago so have gained weight recently and would love to start losing again.

PositiveVibez · 06/10/2018 12:37

I'm 5.7 and last week was 15st8 (this week 15st 3 😊😊😊) and I'm a comfortable 14 although i can squeeze into some 12s

I mean no offence at all, a compliment if anything, but I really think your scales must be wrong and they are weighing you way above your correct weight.

I am 5ft 7 and 15stone and can just manage to get into a 16.

A size 12 at that weight and height just doesn't sound right at all.

Her0utdoors · 06/10/2018 12:40

5'8", 15st, just bought myself a coat in a 20 from Regatta.
