To not bath my kids every day?

I have a 2 year old and an almost 5 year old. DH works away a lot and I'm finding the whole daily schedule so tough on my own. I bath them both every day at the moment, but I'm wondering, would it be wrong of me to skip the odd bath now & then? DD1 is an exceptionally clean kid, DD2 not so much. But DD2 gets baby wiped within an inch of her life after every meal because of all the mess she makes.

How often do you bath your kids? Would not bathing them daily be wrong of me?

I have never bathed my kids daily.

Pfft. Stop living your life by some arbitrary set of rules. Make things easy on yourself.

I only do my dd every 2/3 days. She has eczema so it's better for her.

YANBU go for it. It's not as if they're hormonal smelly teenagers!

My 3yr old gets 3 baths a week generally (though it was everyday when the weather was really hot). Other days he gets his hands, face & bits wiped down. We don't have time to bath every night.
Just do what suits you... They won't come to any harm if they haven't been rolling around in mud!

I actually find showering them in the morning to be easier. They’ve never had baths.

Most days in the summer when they're sweaty and covered in sand mud and leaves.

Once every 2 days in winter, 3 if we've been exceptionally boring those days.

No child needs to be bathed every day!!

I bath my 2 year old and almost 5 year old DDs every other night, sometimes every 3rd night if need be. They are fine, still little so not smelly.
More in the summer if they have had suncream on or are especially dirty.

I always bathed DD in the morning as a baby as she is in was in a nappy all night.
I found baths a chore especially since she wanted to play and was wide awake after so mostly did showers in the morning but not every day.
I found this an easier way to help her wind down by reading.
Now she's a teen and hard to Winkle out if the bathroom.

Bathing kids daily is a new thing, it's fucking ridiculous, it was never done before and it's only done by the pfb wonder weeks generation, take your evenings back op!

Balls to that, DS is 2.5 and he is a few times a week. He doesn't wanna bathe and i dont wanna bath him so we have an unspoken agreement.

If they don’t stink and aren’t filthy then just choose when you bath them. Mine are in a phase of wanting a nightly bath but at 6 and 8 they manage their own bath. When they were that age and/ or in the summertime when they swim a lot we’d do baths every 2-3 days.

I bath mine every 2/3 days. When my DD was little we bathed her everyday and she got really bad eczema on her arms and legs, so we reduced the amount we bathed her and it went, so we just kept to the same routine with my DS when he was born. It is bad for the skin to bath every day anyway, it removes the skins natural oils.

Usually every other day.

Usually every other day for us, unless DS has had a really active day outside!

I do mine every day (3&5), these are my reasons:

• not reliable wipers

-it takes just as long to shower them down as to wipe them over with flannels etc

• nails need scrubbing

I work with children, I'd hate mine to ever go out looking grubby/ smelling. I can't imagine how a child that hasn't been washed for three days can be clean?

I know this opinion isn't shared by many on here though.

I think as long as they are in clean clothes every day etc it doesn’t matter

That was my routine 25 years ago.
Used to dread it, sometimes.
Probably would do it differently now.
Probably do a lot of things differently

At that age every 2 or 3 days should be fine. At 12yo my ds1 needs to shower every single morning and sometimes again at night - puberty hormones reek!.

I did it until school as it was a nice routine. Tea bath story bed.
Ex DH cooked for us while I bathed them. He then came up and did story.
At 5 (school) it changed into a less rigid routine.

It was never necessary. We just liked it and stopped when it was not good for our routine anymore.

DH and I come from the 'Sunday night' bath generation. Our homes would never have had the amount of hot water required for every night baths for everyone. !

Mine get a shower every other day. On the odd occasion that will be spread out to 3 days, but when it gets to day 3 you can tell they need a shower

Nope no baths daily every other day maybe every third day depending on what they have been doing in between.
