What gave them that idea?? They don't like anything to be said that's 'off-message'. (Their message of course. Grin)

Sorry, I meant, what gave Wikipedia editors the idea that Breitbart was all that (no fact checking whatsoever)? Wink

The chosen one? The new film that claims Trump's election was an act of God
Well, we won't have to wait too long to check out that midterm tsunami prophecy:
Taylor has made other claims, which he calls “prophetic words”, including that Trump will serve two terms, the landmark supreme court ruling on abortion in the Roe v Wade case will be overturned, and that next month’s midterm elections will result in a “red tsunami”, strengthening Republican control of both houses of Congress.
Barack Obama will be charged with treason and Trump will authorise the arrest of “thousands of corrupt officials, many of whom are part of a massive satanic paedophile ring”. Trump will also force the release of cures for cancer and Alzheimer’s that are currently being withheld by the pharmaceutical industry.

'The Cruelty Is the Point.
President Trump and his supporters find community by rejoicing in the suffering of those they hate and fear.'

Trump’s only true skill is the con, his only fundamental belief is that the United States is the birthright of straight, white, Christian men, and his only real, authentic pleasure is in cruelty. It is that cruelty, and the delight it brings them, that binds his most ardent supporters to him, in shared scorn for those they hate and fear: immigrants, black voters, feminists, and treasonous white men who empathize with any of those who would steal their birthright. The president’s ability to execute that cruelty through word and deed makes them euphoric. It makes them feel good, it makes them feel proud, it makes them feel happy, it makes them feel united. And as long as he makes them feel that way, they will let him get away with anything, no matter what it costs them.

Senate Judiciary
@senjudiciary
As part of Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to #SCOTUS, the FBI conducted its SIXTH full-field background investigation of Judge Kavanaugh since 1993. As part of these 6 prior FBI investigations, the FBI interviewed nearly 150 different people who know Judge Kavanaugh personally. 1/2

Nowhere in any of these six FBI reports, which the committee has reviewed on a bipartisan basis, was there ever a whiff of ANY issue – at all – related in any way to inappropriate sexual behavior or alcohol abuse. 2/2

Senator Dick Durbin
@SenatorDurbin
This tweet is not accurate. Committee Republicans must correct it. See our letter here: (link: www.durbin.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Letter%20to%20Chairman%20Grassley%20-%20October%203,%202018.pdf. durbin.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

@senjudiciary
Nothing in the tweet is inaccurate or misleading. The committee stands by its statement, which is completely truthful. More baseless innuendo and more false smears from Senate Democrats.

Not surprised. As I stated previously, "passing" prior background checks doesn't mean there was no derogatory information found, just that previous decision makers did not find them disqualifying.

I wrote earlier in the thread about an incident in the South China Sea between the two warships of US and China. China claims sovereignty over this particular area, but they are disputed waters. That the US ship entered the area at all was provocative. The Chinese article I posted the other day made no mention of any Chinese warship presence at all. Today the US Navy released this image of the Chinese ship coming to within 45 metres of the US ship - when you’re talking huge ships, that’s way too close.

As soon as McConnell invoked Cloture it was obvious that the FBI must have been instructed to complete their investigation by Wednesday. Otherwise Senate procedure would not have allowed the vote to be held on Friday. McConnell fixed this with the WH.
'Cloture is a procedure used occasionally in the U.S. Senate to break a filibuster. Cloture, or Rule 22, is the only formal procedure in Senate parliamentary rules, in fact, that can force an end to the stalling tactic. It allows the Senate to limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours of debate.'

Senators will have to read report in SCIF in the CVC
Measure to restrict leaking of the text?
Seung Min Kim
@seungminkim
Tentative plan for how senators will read Kavanaugh FBI report, per a senior Senate official:
--Only one copy of the report is available
--Senators will have to read report in SCIF in the CVC, will get briefed by cleared committee staff ....
.... --Cleared staff will brief senators on report in one-hour shifts, i.e. Republicans will have access to the report from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow. Then Dems get access at 9 a.m. Rs get it back at 10 a.m. Etc.
--This is so multiple senators can read/learn about report at once
