My 10 year old son wants to go as a ‘scary snowman’ for his schools Halloween monster disco. I’m up for the challenge as I love doing special fx makeup, but is it too sinister for a ks2 Halloween party?

What age is KS2? I’m not in England

yellowspottedwellies · 31/08/2018 20:39

That's too scary imo

WhatsUpPussycat123 · 31/08/2018 20:39

Yuck that’s awful

scarysnowman · 31/08/2018 20:39

@macondo 7-11

Personally I'd say yes, big time. But I'm sure not everyone will agree. Bear in mind (depending how good you are at face painting I suppose!) other children might be really scared by that at 10.

MinorRSole · 31/08/2018 20:40

Wtf, that would give me nightmares! I think that is way too much

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 31/08/2018 20:41

7-11....my 7 year old would have nightmares for weeks if someone came looking like that to a child's Halloween event. She's not that easily scared either.

Coco2891 · 31/08/2018 20:41

If my 5 year old saw that he'd freak out and have nightmares for weeks!! I think it's too scary even for 10 year olds , but that's just my opinion.

Starlight345 · 31/08/2018 20:41

Nope. If it’s juniors it from about 7 if all school from 4

butterflysugarbaby · 31/08/2018 20:41

That's ace! Grin

10-11 y.o. will be OK with it I think.

7? Not so much.

I am on the fence. Can't decide...

Sorry.

Ohyesiam · 31/08/2018 20:42

Bit too grizzly.

Monny1 · 31/08/2018 20:43

No, that’s ridiculous! I’m no spring chicken and that face would give me nightmares!!

scarysnowman · 31/08/2018 20:43

What about this type of version?

I like the idea, but you need to tone the makeup way down for those ages.

RebeccaCloud9 · 31/08/2018 20:50

Bloody hell no way that's so so scary!

Yes to the idea - snowman with fangs but not THAT terrifying!

cariadlet · 31/08/2018 20:51

Both way too scary for most 7 year olds and for some of the 10 and 11 year olds.
Halloween dressing up for primary school kids is usually spooky in a fun kind of way rather than nightmare inducing!

TBH I'd find them pretty freaky and I'm a grown woman.

elQuintoConyo · 31/08/2018 20:53

Fuck my eyes no! They are children ffs.

cmlover · 31/08/2018 20:53

at home or another event. but nit at school. too many.children that could be scared.

Zintox · 31/08/2018 20:53

Fuck no! You can't send him to a school disco looking like that! Way too scary.

PhilomenaButterfly · 31/08/2018 20:55

DD who's 10 says yes.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 31/08/2018 20:58

If it was only Y6 it might be OK but all KS2 would be a really bad idea.

bingandflop · 31/08/2018 21:00

DD is about to into juniors and would be bloody terrified

adoggymama · 31/08/2018 21:00

That's an adults costume, don't be ridiculous! He'll either get sent home or sent to wash it off.

OutPinked · 31/08/2018 21:03

My DD is just going into ks2 and she’s still every bit as sensitive as she was as a baby. That would honestly give her nightmares for weeks.

If it were just for year 6, I’d say it was fine but not when tiny year 3’s are involved.

3girlmama · 31/08/2018 21:04

No, too scary
