I've contacted Ofcom for the first time ever too.I give zero fucks about the people on the panel as I think it's 6 of one game half a dozen of the other but it was totally in poor taste to set all that up for a tv show

QueenOfMyWorld · 29/08/2018 18:18

and not game
.bloody auto correct

Maybugger · 29/08/2018 18:19

Ghastly programme at the best of times. The nonentity Nolans are ascerbic harpies and this was nothing short of bear-baiting to try and improve struggling viewing numbers.
I'm no fan of Kim but to set up someone who's clearly got some sort of health problem is nothing short of disgusting.
Shame on the producers and the hideous Nolans smug bitches

bluemascara · 29/08/2018 18:20

Haven't rtft but I've just went and watched the clip on you tube... oh my goodness!!! Sll joking aside I think she's got issues that she needs resolved.
Although it was funny when she was mid emotional rant, tears, choked up etc and someone said 'why did you stay in there then?' And it's almost like she came out of character for a minute and said 'because I wanted the money' plain and straight faced

knittedwoollenmouse · 29/08/2018 18:22

’because I wanted the money’

At least she’s honest 😂

LuckyDiamond · 29/08/2018 18:22

I think Kim is misunderstood. The Loose Women are awful. That was a disgusting display by a bunch of fishwives.

bluemascara · 29/08/2018 18:24

I don't know if she's misunderstood. But loose women is awful

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 29/08/2018 18:40

Bloody hell. That was an awful watch, I was ready to moan about KW until I saw how they treated her. It was terrible.
I too looked at twitter and I am happy that the majority are disgusted and disappointed with Loose Women. I too have complained. I only watch the show when ill at home but I won’t bother now. The platforms they create about “empowerment”, “anti-bullying” etc are false. It was a despicable thing they did to her.

MaluCachu · 29/08/2018 18:41

It’s not a programme I would watch usually, telly is just a bit of background noise.Definitely won’t be watching it again.Even the music as she walked on was provocative in my opinion.

HelenaDove · 29/08/2018 18:48

what was the music they played as she walked on. The clips ive seen didnt show that bit?

picklemepopcorn · 29/08/2018 18:48

Kim gives me the impression of those apparently hard as nails women who have endured such hardship and abuse that they completely armour themselves with hostility. She doesn't take prisoners because she knows she's vulnerable underneath the shell.

She had a long hard life before she became successful pretty late on.

Colleen appears to have a lifetime's experience of manipulation and playing people off against each other- perhaps growing up in a large family. It is just like girls at boarding school.

LARLARLAND · 29/08/2018 18:49

I do sometimes watch LW because I work at home and it’s very solitary, so it’s nice to hear a bit of chat while I eat my lunch. I like quite a few of the panellists especially JSP, Saira Khan and Kaye Adams. I am really disappointed with today’s episode. It was cruel.

Everyoneiswingingit · 29/08/2018 18:50

The music was from Exorcist i think.

Everyoneiswingingit · 29/08/2018 18:51

No its not that, it's another film. Damien?

Snoopychildminder · 29/08/2018 18:51

They set her up just to cause this kind of controversy. It’s not like Loose Women usually gets this amount of attention is it?!

Shame on the producers. I complained to Ofcom (first time I have ever complained about a tv show) and I hope something is done.

The gleeful tweets from loose women twitter page made me exceptionally angry also. Completely belittling KW. For all her faults, no on deserve that kind of ambush. It was bullying.

ScarletPower · 29/08/2018 18:52

MissEliza

I think the young mum you refer to might be former Big Brother contestant Chanel Hayes? She was on it earlier in the year after her partner dumped her out of the blue, and she was very tearful and upset.

Everyoneiswingingit · 29/08/2018 19:00

CN starts the slagging off, calling her a vile woman and a witch. KW has apparently said that she was told CN was going to speak first, then when she came on CW wouldn't. Very staged for the exact result they got.

DunkandEggAgain · 29/08/2018 19:07

It was like a Jerry Springer episode especially with the stupid audience's aggravating booing and laughter. We are (supposed to be) better than that.

nokidshere · 29/08/2018 19:11

I didn't see LW and I don't watch B.B. but a bit of googling after reading this thread shows that KW has always been a vile and volatile person long before any of this stuff.

Whilst I think LW is mind numbingly crap tv, KW didn't have to go on today, it was her choice and, since there was never any intention of "drawing a line under it" from either of them her motives for appearing are questionable. If she just went on for the money as she suggested then more fool her.

I've never been a fan of "I just tell it like it is" which is invariably an excuse to be rude to everyone and get away with it. Nor am I a fan of "I behave like this because I had a bad childhood" which is also an excuse to behave badly.

I have no sympathy for any of them. You reap what you sow and all that

NonJeNeRegretteRien · 29/08/2018 19:19

I am genuinely starting to hate ITV. The only thing they’re good for is Unforgotten.

theliverpoolone · 29/08/2018 19:19

Haven't watched this but it sounds horrendous. I've never liked CN with her smug 'jokes' like she's better than everyone else, but I'm surprised JSP allowed herself be involved. Hope she's getting plenty of negative feedback from Twitter followers and is regretting her part in it all.

dontbringmedown · 29/08/2018 19:19

I have just complained to offcom. How is this ever okay to make a pensioner with or without mental health issues break down and cry on TV and for everyone to boo her.

I am honestly beyond furious. Is this really what we have become as a nation? How is this ever ever okay?

I complained as well. It's nothing more than modern day bear baiting.
I hope KW is OK Flowers

formerbabe · 29/08/2018 19:22

Although it was funny when she was mid emotional rant, tears, choked up etc

Er...it wasn't funny...none of it was funny.

user1471434832 · 29/08/2018 19:22

Apparently Ofcom have received 448 complaints. Surprised it’s not more really.

ChangerChangerson · 29/08/2018 19:22

I'm surprised they haven't received more.
