I flew business for the first time, put a piccie on fb. I’m normal middle class.

An acquaintance who is hugely privileged and snobby, is a Lord, commented “now we all know this is the first time you’ve flown business”.

Would you find it offensive?

Anyone else I would laugh, but not him.

OP posts:
Bunnybigears · 27/08/2018 21:40

I would find it a completely pointless comment that just highlights him as an arse.

Dollymixture22 · 27/08/2018 21:41

It was bitchy!

Processedpea · 27/08/2018 21:41

Wot bunny said

gamerwidow · 27/08/2018 21:43

It is a needlessly bitchy comment but I wouldn't be offended I'd just think the poster was a massive idiot. He is showing himself up not you don't rise to it.

Autumnchill · 27/08/2018 21:44

I'd just reply 'everyone has to have a first time....'

NaomiNagata · 27/08/2018 21:46

Omg. This reminds me of a friend of mine. Wealthy family and lived abroad, any time they went on holiday they chartered a private plane. When they were moving back to the UK they just got a regular flight. Sat in first class but it was a normal flight with other people. My friend, a child at the time, said very loudly "why are all these people on OUR plane".... When he told us about it we all couldn't believe he could be so obtuse, but he was a child! This man is a grown up so he's just an ass.

Twotailed · 27/08/2018 21:46

He sounds like a prick but it’s only his own bad manners he has highlighted!

AnEPleaseBob · 27/08/2018 21:47

Offensive? No. I'd think it was a lame joke, nothing more.

So much offense taken everywhere!

bellsbuss · 27/08/2018 21:48

Yes he was very rude , there was no need for him to post that. OH and I fly upper class when we go away just the 2 of us and I always post a selfie of us at the bar. I get excited every time and don't take it for granted. Fuck him he's a twat

category12 · 27/08/2018 21:48

I'd just say "yes! it was great!" or something.

ShatnersBassoon · 27/08/2018 21:52

I wouldn't find it offensive, just sneery and unpleasant.

The bloke is obviously a great, gaping arsehole. Put him in his place.

FadedRed · 27/08/2018 21:55

Is it too late to respond "Yes, usually travel in First, but slumming it as work are paying!"? Grin

LusaCole · 27/08/2018 22:00

Tbh if I was flying business class I wouldn't put a photo of it on FB as it would seem like showing off. So I kind of think you deserved a sarky response. Sorry OP, but you did ask!

Troels · 27/08/2018 22:01

Maybe reply. That comment says more about you than it does about me. Then ignore him.

BoomBoomsCousin · 27/08/2018 22:05

If it was a friend of mine I would assume they were trying to be humorous, not rude. If someone I don’t know that well it would depend what they were like about other people, but I don’t have friends on FB who aren’t actual friends.

Ilovelblue · 27/08/2018 22:06

Pretty much what the others have said. The only person he is showing up is himself. How ignorant.

Milkmonster2 · 27/08/2018 22:06

I've flown business/ first class quite a few times and often post a photo. It's exciting and a luxury. Ok it's a bit showy-offy but isn't that what social media is about (or has sadly become!).

SlartiAardvark · 27/08/2018 22:07

Just delete his post....

Frogscotch7 · 27/08/2018 22:08

“Yes it was our first time. Does your penis feel bigger now?”

GreyGardens88 · 27/08/2018 22:09

He was probably calling you out for showing off, why else would you be posting a pic in first class? Though it's not as bad as people trying to show off by posting selfies sat in first class on a train ha

AdaColeman · 27/08/2018 22:11

Well, he might be rich, but he clearly has no class!

Lalliella · 27/08/2018 22:12

I would reply “now we all know something about you”

troodiedoo · 27/08/2018 22:17

now all of mn knows that was the first time you flew business class Grin

WatchedTooMuchBrookside · 27/08/2018 22:17

I took it that he assumed you always travelled first class 🤨

underneaththeash · 27/08/2018 22:19

Personally, posting a picture of flying in business/club isn't something i'd do so I can sort of understand the comment.
