To wonder how the fluffing hell you can 'fall off' a cruise ship?!

I mean HOW? Just HOW?

I am an average height (5 ft 4ish) and the rail was up to my chest when me and DH went on a cruise ship 3 years ago. It was like this on the attached pic.

She was obviously re enacting the scene from Titanic and fell off!!

MrSlant · 20/08/2018 14:51

I also would love to know. Mainly because I have a lot of anxiety about my children falling of ferries even though they are adults now.

BitchQueen90 · 20/08/2018 14:51

There must be more to it I think. Maybe she had a few drinks? Or was trying to re enact the Titanic scene? Grin

Anythingforacatslife · 20/08/2018 14:52

It happens more often than you’d think! I can see how it might, a little bit drunk maybe as people often are on cruise ships, step up on the railing to have a look over...

BigFatGoalie · 20/08/2018 14:52

My DH saw this on the news this morning and after about 3 seconds exclaimed: “she must have been completely shitfaced!!”
Grin

MrSlant · 20/08/2018 14:52

Got it a bit wrong then April - she fell off the back!

Kochicoo · 20/08/2018 14:52

I thought that too and also came to the Titanic reenactment conclusion!

Finfintytint · 20/08/2018 14:52

April, my DH and I came to that conclusion too!

I suspect she must have been drinking but not too much or else she would have certainly drowned.

katiefromtheblock · 20/08/2018 14:53

@Bigfatgoalie

'Completely shitfaced' LOL Grin

And yeah, Titanic re-inactment!! Smile

I heard her talking on the radio news and she just said, ' I fell off the ship '. I agree, there must be more?

JuneFromBethesda · 20/08/2018 14:55

I wondered that too - and also assumed it was alcohol-related. Although she’s been quite relaxed about being named/interviewed in the press, I’d be too embarrassed if I’d fallen off while drunk ...

Madbengalmum · 20/08/2018 14:56

She is an air hostess who apparently got completely pissed after an mahossive argument with her mates.

ineedwine99 · 20/08/2018 14:56

Thing is if she was that drunk how did she not drown? Very odd

teaandtoast · 20/08/2018 14:57

Well op, I'm considerably taller than yow, so the rail would be a lot lower...

HolyMountain · 20/08/2018 14:58

Very odd story.

I’ve not been on a ship but surely she had to make some effort to get over the railing, you can’t just fall, can you?

katiefromtheblock · 20/08/2018 14:58

Yeah I thought that... how did she swim for 10 hours if she was drunk?!

And it can't have been a publicity stunt, or some attention seeking thing, surely??? Why put your life at such great risk for a bit of publicity?

WEIRD! Confused

TSSDNCOP · 20/08/2018 14:59

It was also a long way up that she fell from.

How did she miss being churned up in the motors?

Too many questions.

Sleepyandtired21 · 20/08/2018 14:59

She jumped or she was hanging off the rails. There’s no way you can just “fall”. She seems to be loving the attention which is suspicious

katiefromtheblock · 20/08/2018 14:59

@HolyMountain

I’ve not been on a ship but surely she had to make some effort to get over the railing, you can’t just fall, can you?

Not really.

DH is 6 foot 1, and he said no way would HE have fallen over the rail.....

This lady was about 5 ft 7 I think.

agedknees · 20/08/2018 15:01

She didn’t swim for 10 hours, she floated. Sea state calm, temp of Adriatic approx 20 degrees. She was very, very lucky.

TSSDNCOP · 20/08/2018 15:01

Without any evidence to back it up, it just feels like there’s a lot more to it than “I fell off the boat”.

HolyMountain · 20/08/2018 15:01

She also trod water for 10 hours, is that right?

I’d have drowned from exhaustion.

Babymamamama · 20/08/2018 15:01

I had to read that story three times this morning as I was so incredulous. Ok first off wouldn't she have landed on the lower decks and be badly injured, if she was drunk would she not have drowned, how come she wasn't battered and bruised from the fall and shaking with hypothermia, how come her hair looked so good, and why was she wearing a bikini top and shorts as surely you change for dinner on a cruise and would still be wearing said clothes when she fell (jumped?) in. Sorry I don't think she went anywhere near the water.
I would also love to know what the other passengers who have had their itinerary messed up think of her stupid shennanigans. I predict fake news.

Spam88 · 20/08/2018 15:03

My dad fell off a ship once. He was leaving over the side throwing up after drinking too much the night before Grin

InTheRoseGarden · 20/08/2018 15:04

There’s definitely more to this story than meets the eye.

Did she jump in? She certainly didn’t fall.
How did she tread water for TEN HOURS? Hmm
