AIBU to lose my sh*t at her??

So long story my DS had a bad accident last week lucky he was un hurt I told a few close friends as I thought I could trust them. Didn't go into to much detail as I wasn't sure what was going on.
So get home after a few nights stay in hospital. To get a phone call from my boss saying I'm really sorry to hear what happened to your DS turns out the mum I thought was a friend had gone into my work and told everyone what happened including a mum I don't get a long with the judgement my sht don't stink kind of mum. So I lost my sht at her for opening her mouth and telling people before I wanted to she doesn't think she has done anything wrong as people where going to find out anyway. I get that but isn't it mine and DH choice who and when we tell other??

So a woman at work you don't like heard that your son had an accident? The same work where you need a couple days off because you son had an accident. And you thought she wasn't going to find out?

Logic and reasoning are not your strongest suit, eh?

But by all means keep pushing away your mates by acting like an aggressive nutter. I feel like this problem of having friends trying to do caring things for you will solve itself next time around you have a crisis.

Well it sounds like people were being nice if your boss phoned to see how you were. Also surely you would have had to tell your boss if you were in hospital for a few nights.

It's not the sort of thing people would think is a secret surely? Unless this is a drip feed.

For instance I can perfectly understand people having this conversation.

Colleague: oh do you know where stressed is today?
Friend: yeah, her son had a bad accident and has been in hospital a couple of days.
Colleague: oh right that's a shame.

Hardly something to lose a friendship over!

Surely you would have told your boss anyway, as you would have needed time off work in order to be at the hospital with him?

I'm really concerned that you "lost your shit" over this, have you considered getting some help with your anger? It would be fair enough to speak to her and ask why she had done this, and explain how it made you feel, but your reaction sounds extreme. I appreciate though that you had just had a really worrying time with your DS - I hope he is now fully recovered.

I don't understand this. I think you need to give more info. Your boss would have found out anyway.
I think mentioning that you prefer to discuss private matters with your boss directly is totally ok. Losing it with her is too much.

Did you tell her you didnt want anyone to know?
If someone told my their child had a bad accident but was unharmed I wouldnt think that it was private unless told so and would probably tell people we knew mutually if asked.
