Let's have a feel good thread!

Today I got my Swedish Hasbeens I've had my eye on for over a year for $60 reduced from $200!

I managed to cuddle the cat without having an asthma attack.

It rained last night so I don't have to spend 2 hours watering.

Dh made me chocolate spread toasted in hamburger buns with salt in bed. (Yes I know it sounds Envy.)

Yesterday somebody paid forward my coffee and muffin at the cafe so it was free!

My piano teacher told me today I was making excellent progress. I've only had three lessons so I'm quite chuffed.

Drycleanonly7 · 16/08/2018 13:46

My four year old wanted 'one last kiss' before he started his Forest School day.

Stimmyplip · 16/08/2018 13:47

Smile Learning new stuff is brilliant. I'm shit at everything so probably won't bother. Grin

Jo Malone sent me free perfume in the post!

Stimmyplip · 16/08/2018 13:56

@HelpmeobiMN whaaaaat?! How did you manage that? My candle just ran out but it's so bloody expensive in the States I'll wait until I go back to the UK to get a new one!

My 3 year old came charging at me saying “I missed you” and gave me a big hug.

I’d only been in the garden hanging out the washing and he could see me the whole time.

It made me really smile Smile

Brambleboo · 16/08/2018 13:58

I received a surprise wedding invitation. I'm chuffed to bits!

I had a big doctors appointment this morning sorting out new medication.
When I got home (after an 40 minute wait in the pharmacy) my husband had tidied and cleaned all our room, sorted my bedside table with all my little trinkets (it's been heaped in paperwork), got me my favourite fizzy drink that settles my stomach and sent me up to bed to take my new tablets.

I haven't had any pain meds for almost a week and have felt like an absolute wreck, it's so lovely knowing that both DS's have had their lunch, the house is tidy, I don't have any Mum guilt at being in bed at 2pm!

Tbf, DH is incredible all the time, we're both carers for our 2 disabled DS's at the moment and he does a bit of work from home too, these last few months have just been really difficult with my injury and he's gone above and beyond in making me feel relaxed. I haven't had to lift a finger! 💖

My washing machine broke down and the engineer discovered it was my reusable breast pads, they'd escaped from the little bag I wash them in. We'd had such a nice chat that he fudged the reason for the breakdown so I wouldn't be recharged. It was very kind of him as I had already agreed to pay.

There's loads of cake at work today as it's people's birthdays/leaving etc. I have had 3 slices so far.

twinkletoedelephant · 16/08/2018 14:17

Friends boy come for a play date with mine- and he gave me a proper squeezey hug.

He's nearly 10 and doesn't do hugs but he has missed me (usually see him at pickup school). His mum just stood looking in astonishment ;)

I Luff's him

This is utterly pathetic I know but I put petrol in my car for the first time today!! I'm 38 but I had a crippling driving phobia until about a year ago, when circumstances meant I had to start to try to overcome it. It's been baby steps but the petrol station always gave me an anxiety attack and today I conquered it!

Bit of a reverse one my grandma recently died and left her house and all her money and belongings to my aunt and mostly left out my dad (so sort of by proxy my siblings and I too).

My aunt told my sister thinking we were going to get/angry and upset but instead it was absolute total relief and joy on our part.

There's a few family issues she wasn't aware of and we were super worried about it being taken/squandered by 3rd parties.

My aunt was so worried to tell us and said she had been having sleepless nights because of it but we think it's the very least she deserves for being such a brilliant daughter to her mum.

She was so relieved and it made me happy that what could have ended up as a super horrible/awkward situation ended up being super positive/brought family together in a sad time.

HelpmeobiMN · 16/08/2018 14:56

I’ve got no idea how - it’s their new scent so I got a full size bottle of that and two travel sizes of other scents through the letterbox with a card saying ‘just to say thanks’. It must be promotional but not sure why I was picked except that I must have got lucky!

Bumblealong1 · 16/08/2018 14:58

@smigglepiggle
What a lovely post. Lifts my heart to read.

chockaholic72 · 16/08/2018 14:58

Well done @mistermagpie!

I got asked "have you lost weight today?" by two separate people.

Half a stone down, three more to go...

smigglepiggle · 16/08/2018 15:04

Ooh and also I bought some alcohol for a family member today and got IDed. I'm 33 in a couple of weeks.

Aprilshowersinaugust · 16/08/2018 15:07

In the supermarket cafe yesterday( ds 3 has just mastered taking the tray back to the trolly thing) and 3 tables looked on adoringly and after much whispering said they were deciding who got to take him home as he was adorable!!
I asked him if he missed me when I was at work though and he said Probably!
Ratbag!!

JennyBlueWren · 16/08/2018 15:09

Flew a kite with my son at the park on the way back popped into co-op and haggis and mushrooms were both reduced so made a delicious pie for less than a pound.

Back to school on Monday after maternity leave was so happy that when I got home from sorting my classroom yesterday baby, son and husband were calm and happy (DS screamed when I went back to work after he was born!)

Nanasueathome · 16/08/2018 15:10

I got free perfume in the post from Jo Malone too
It’s the second time I’ve had something from them
A new fragrance...Honeysuckle and Davana
I’ve put some in to try it
It’s quite nice

BitOutOfPractice · 16/08/2018 15:12

Seeing so many of DD’s friends so happy with their A level results. Bumped into one of my best friebd’s DS who had done really well and we hugged each other in the car park with joy. It’s probably been 12 years since I had a hug from him! Gorgeous!

LostPlatypus · 16/08/2018 15:20

I've been having to pay vet bills for my poorly cat (she's back for a check-up today as well but seems to be doing better) so have had to cancel all subscriptions on my favourite website (you pay a few pounds a month to support people's content, so you have to subscribe to each individual channel). Some lovely friends (different people in each channel) have gifted me subscriptions for the next month, which really made me smile. I have done similar for others in the past, but I never expected other people to do the same for me.

Bahhhhhumbug · 16/08/2018 15:33

Walking my super friendly (and wants to say hello to every man and beast on the planet) beagle today and there was a man on the park with his DD about four years old. My dog saw her and gets sooo excited especially when she sees kids and started trying drag me towards her. The little one clearly didn't want to meet her and looked visibly panicked. I reassured her that Ddog could not get off her (very secure) harness and lead and l managed to get Ddog to sit calmly.
The dad asked if she would like to now meet Ddog and she very hesitantly agreed and edged over and ended up with Ddog rolling over demanding tummy tickles from her etc and little girl squealing with delight.
I answered all her 101 questions about Ddog and to always make sure with dogs owners and/or daddy before saying hello to any dog etc etc.
When l finally managed drag me and Ddog away the dad said how grateful he was as he wanted her to have a healthy respect for approaching dogs but without this crippling fear she had. He told me he'd had a lot of negative reactions from dog owners when dd had started screaming /hiding etc but that l had been 'lovely' and thanked me again.
I awarded me and Ddog a shared sausage roll treat when we got home Smile

Our janitor at work is lovely, always has a smile and a pleasant word, brightens my day on mornings when I'm frazzled or a bit down. She was vacuuming around reception when I got here today so didn't hear me come in but she turned around and said I knew it was you, you always smell so nice. Aw!
