Let's have a feel good thread!

Today I got my Swedish Hasbeens I've had my eye on for over a year for $60 reduced from $200!

I managed to cuddle the cat without having an asthma attack.

It rained last night so I don't have to spend 2 hours watering.

Dh made me chocolate spread toasted in hamburger buns with salt in bed. (Yes I know it sounds Envy.)

Yesterday somebody paid forward my coffee and muffin at the cafe so it was free!

Last week, I'd been having a crap day, was walking back after lunch and passed a guy I only know a little bit, he asked if I'd dyed my hair purple, which I had. He said "it's fucking awesome. I love it". Totally cheered me up, made my day and I told him so. Never underestimate the power of a compliment!

When I arrived home from the gym yesterday morning, I discovered that DP had nipped home after a meeting, and left me a lovely card, popped up on my laptop so I’d find it just before starting work. It basically said how much he loves me and how I light up his world. Soppy, I know, but one of the many reasons I love him is because he does stuff like this. ❤️

My 3 year old after many months finally did a poo on the toilet instead of in his pants.

He also can read most of most of the Biff & Chip Level one books (much to our surprise!)

The baby also went down for a nap without a fight

I own a coffee shop, only been open a year but have recently really taken off and the influx of recommendations and positive reviews, 99% as much about the wonderful staff and service as the cakes and coffee, have had me nearly in tears! Blood, sweat and tears have gone into it, 80hr weeks, and just someone saying how friendly I am makes it all worth it!

Notquiteagandt · 16/08/2018 16:13

Yesterday an elderly lady smiled at my baby bump and said "oh aren't you in for a lovely treat"

Made me smile as she is so right but also as it was the 1st time someone who doesnt know me and know im pregnant has passed comment. So im obviously showing now.

Going through a decades worth of diaries to prepare for a possible court case (bad) which has reminded me what I lovely life I've had, even if I didn't appreciate it so much at the time (good).
It's made a boring task very enjoyable when I think of the person I was and what nice places/things I've done.

Fadingmemory · 16/08/2018 16:41

A woman told me that I look classy. I am old and wrinkled. The look of utter happiness on the face of a neighbour's child as she set off for her first day at school.

Frenchmom · 16/08/2018 16:51

My son got into his first choice university.

Pashazade · 16/08/2018 17:19

Being made to feel that I'm a damn good friend, when a friend rocked up on the doorstep completely unexpectedly have received an all clear from a scan and she just needed a cuddle. (I have been informed I am a good quality hugger/cuddler) but she came to me before she went home and it's nice to know that she felt she could just ask!

MrsBartlettforthewin · 16/08/2018 17:26

One of my year 13s took the time to email me this afternoon and say thank you for my support over the last 2 years. Was lovely to read and brought a tear to my eye. He's now off to uni to study the subject I've taught him for the last two years. Super proud.

NCPuffin · 16/08/2018 17:28

I'm pregnant and have really been struggling with anxiety about the baby (I'm also classes as high risk). I had an extra scan yesterday and the registrar said everything looked good and did I have any questions, and that was it! So nice to not be told all the risks and being sent for further scans etc for once! Really cheered me up. if only the child would be a bit more active today so I can stop worrying...

NCPuffin · 16/08/2018 17:31

@MrsBartlettforthewin I'm jealous! I think one of my year 13s got into Oxbridge, but neither she nor the school have let me know. I didn't feel like going in and hanging round this morning was scared

TopBitchoftheWitches · 16/08/2018 17:31

The repair for my car to get through it's mot was only £36.00. This made me happy !

MrsBartlettforthewin · 16/08/2018 17:51

@NCPuffin oh that sucks. You'll probably get an email off the pupil in a couple of days when everything has settled/ sunk in etc.

Jeippinghmip · 16/08/2018 17:52

Someone just told me that I look really well. Smile

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/08/2018 17:53

My glasses were cheaper than I thought they would be

GardenersDelight · 16/08/2018 17:56

I had my dgd 2.5 today she said I love you silly Nana & asked me to kiss her knees & elbows😍

ApolloandDaphne · 16/08/2018 18:35

@Nanasueathome I got the free Jo Malone perfume too. That's the second time i have had this. It is near my birthday and was a lovely and welcome treat.

startingagain17 · 16/08/2018 18:43

My 58 year old dad recently died due to shocking circs and mum has began to suffer with TIAs. When my battery went on my car, our local garage, who my mum, dad and I have been going to for twenty years or so fitted a brand new battery for me for free. The owner also knew that myself and my children had to flee the marital home last year and lost everything as a result - home, teaching job etc...

Needless to say I cried as I was so touched by the owner's kindness.

dontcallmelen · 16/08/2018 18:57

Someone at work today sent me a picture he'd drawn :) I loved it.

TattyTShirt · 17/08/2018 02:33

2 great things made my day today

  1. My adopted dd finally received a reply from her birth sister. And she's agreed to meet up. Not sure how that will pan out but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
  2. We met the owner of a large, bouncy, out of control, aggressive dog (not for the first time) on our walk today. I put my dog on a leash and asked the owner to clip his dog on a leash. And he did! Wonders will never cease! Happy days!
