Let's have a feel good thread!

Today I got my Swedish Hasbeens I've had my eye on for over a year for $60 reduced from $200!

I managed to cuddle the cat without having an asthma attack.

It rained last night so I don't have to spend 2 hours watering.

Dh made me chocolate spread toasted in hamburger buns with salt in bed. (Yes I know it sounds Envy.)

Yesterday somebody paid forward my coffee and muffin at the cafe so it was free!

mistermagpie - I remember how that feels. Terrified me. Was talking to my mum last week about how nervewracking that was the first time I had to do that. It is so public! And lots of things to get right. Parking near enough to the pump. Figuring out how it all works. Well done. It gets easier.

Todamhottoday · 17/08/2018 05:17

Stimmyplip, you have just brightened my day!

Sweedish hasbeens, love love love them, going to order some.

Until your posting I have never seen them, thank you very much!

My daughter has recently got married, she and her husband were originally going to have the ceremony in Cornwall but decided to have it locally when she found out her nanna wouldn't be able to make the journey. Then, late last year, my dad was diagnosed with a terminal cancer but was told he had 5 years sadly that wasn't to be and he died in March this year.

To honour his memory, at the service and at reception, she wanted to have a head of hydrangea expect it has been a bad year for them and the florist told her the day before the wedding she hadn't been able to get any. The night before the wedding I had a brainwave and put out a plea on her local 'Spotted in...@ Facebook page, the plea went live at 10pm and by 10.20 it had been shared over thirty times and we had six offers of flowers. Two kind souls brought hydrangeas to the venue at 9am the next morning, I was also able to collect some from local residents. This small act of kindness showed me that, on the whole, the world is still full of good people who are willing to help others.

Lovely thread!! This has really made me smile. My mum and dad brought me a large bunch of flowers left over from a birthday party, the house is clean because ds is away so the addition of the flowers made me feel like I live in a really nice house.

The compliment thing is real.

Someone stopped me in a shop a few weeks ago when I was wearing a new dress and feeling a bit shit as I've put on so much weight. She said 'excuse me, can I just tell you that that dress is amazing and you look absolutely wonderful in it?'

It put me on a high for about three hours!

I've started complimenting strangers if I like their hair, dress, kids (lol) a lot more since!

My 8 year old grandson giving me massive huggles (as he calls them) and saying "you're the best nana in the whole world".

Northernmum100 · 17/08/2018 13:51

A random stranger told me she thought I looked 'very put together and stylish' while I was out shopping . My teen DD looked Shock

MalcolmsBrokenWalrusMoneybox · 17/08/2018 13:56

I was (still am really!) in a self hating, sour, frustrated mood yesterday evening, yet the least affectionate cat came and sat on my lap for ages, purring as if to tell me I was still loved.

Shampooeeee · 17/08/2018 14:07

Haberpop that brought a tear to my eye.

I bumped into a friend in the supermarket this morning. Instead of the usual 30 second exchange of greetings, we stopped and had a proper chat for 20 minutes while our DC played on a bench.

mydogishot · 17/08/2018 14:26

I started a thread today about me trying to take in my kids younger half siblings. Apart from all the fantastic advise I've received, lots of posts are saying how amazing and lovely I am!

I go from being emotional to having to crack a window because of the smug 😁

Stimmyplip · 17/08/2018 14:54

"Having to crack a window because of the smug."

Omg I'm so using that.

DS 2.5 did really well at the dentist and I was really nervous about taking him and he was an angel, chatting away with the guy, telling him all about his day, saying thank you and good bye. Such a little star!

MilfordFound · 17/08/2018 15:40

I was walking to the post office with my 3 month old baby in a sling. Two boys were kicking a football around by the steps up to the village, kicking hard to make it go really high. As I approached one of them said 'stop and let the lady go by' then they both stood still and waited for me to pass and go up the steps. I said thank you and he smiled and said 'you're welcome'.
Such a minor little thing, but the consideration from those kids really made me smile.

Thiswayorthatway · 17/08/2018 15:44

At the Fleadh (Irish music festival) in Drogheda. Lady gave DS her balloon with fairy lights as she said he would enjoy it more, and that sometimes we should do nice things just because we can.

bsbabas · 17/08/2018 16:09

Got new sheets shopping in and my new ordered off line flip flops fit

momalloverthemap · 17/08/2018 17:53

We have moved to a new country. I am dying to meet people and make friends. I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself tbh. Today at the park two other parents were chatting with me and it was just lovely. I don't feel quite so invisible.
The impact of even small social interaction can be so meaningful.

FlibbertigibbetArmadillo · 17/08/2018 18:34

Yesterday on my crowded commuter train a guy was making very intricate origami. Think he saw me watching with interest and admiration, as when he got off he left me a tiny elephant and crane. They were very cute and really made me smile

DarthLipgloss · 17/08/2018 18:59

My DP Spotted me putting petrol in my car, pulled his van up next to me, got out, snogged me got back in and drove off. He described it as a 'drive by smooching'...it brightened my day up, and that of all the other rush hour customers..

Inthetropics · 17/08/2018 19:14

A random teen girl looked at me and said "You look lovely in that dress".

Angie169 · 17/08/2018 19:17

I was getting off the bus today when a man stopped me and handed me my brand new water bottle that I had only just bought .
