To think that instagram has jumped the shark?

I used to really love instagram it as a place to get inspiration, eduction or a point in the right direction to go do some research myself on various topics, but am getting bored of it.

The influencer wars (with some clearly playing the game more than others Hmm ), the woke activists who are beginning to believe their own hype (their content becoming about them and how good they are), even the naice art and design accounts that I predominately follow are beginning to be a little lacking.

AIBU to think that insta is in a death spiral? If so (because clearly I have forgotten life before it) where do people find informative and / or creative inspiration outside of it these days. Blogs seem to have died, and facebook is a non starter!

NC because well I am bored!

@MistressOfTheGarter I think it was a doll.

boredyboredy · 14/08/2018 18:10

But a huge thank you to those who have commented with alternative accounts - I am going to try to reset my algorithm and see if I can find my instagram mojo again.

I really like susie verill. She came on here after the mumsnet debacle and she was great. She's a really good watch. Very funny.

Breadsticksandhummus · 14/08/2018 18:11

Theres a pic of her breastfeeding twins further down

Oh that was a joke post! One of those is a doll her daughter handed to her.

SemperIdem · 14/08/2018 18:12

I really enjoy Instagram.

I am surprised though, that people who have become “influencers” and laid very intimate details of their lives can actually date be put out when their some amongst their audience begin to hold a dissenting view. Surely they must have been able to see that coming?

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 14/08/2018 18:12

Give the woman a fucking break, this is the second time I’ve found myself posting on here about this, you are making a woman with mental health problems cry on insta stories.

Whether it’s one or two comments or not, or whether you think what you are saying is insignificant...it isn’t to her....you can clearly see she’s heartbroken over all this. Her child seems perfectly happy and healthy to me, she’s eloquent and funny, I think her mum is doing a brilliant job.

It must be very difficult to read things like that GOMI post, and I know the vitriol written on there hasn’t been written on here. But just for her sanity, leave her the fuck alone!

Rachowl · 14/08/2018 18:13

Instagrammers I currently love.

Rebel.lou - running an amazing campaign to stop period poverty!
Sparklesandstretchmarks - honest which I just love about her.
Kikiblahblah - Again, so bloody honest. And not your typical "white, middle-class Instamum" (which there is also nothing wrong with, just nice to actually have some diversity!
And for cake inspiration janespatisserie

Hangingaroundtheportal · 14/08/2018 18:16

Yes SV came onto a thread on here a while back after she had been slagging off MN on her Insta. She engaged and listened and was actually really nice about it all, in the same way that MP has been whenever she has engaged on here. You know, a grown up about it all!

ItsColdNow · 14/08/2018 18:16

Obviously there is something going on as a comment of mine was deleted that named no names and my issues with all accounts is use of kids so it’s strange that it is deleted. I don’t like how conversation here has been wrongly represented and discussed. The comments under posts are just awful.

SavannahSky · 14/08/2018 18:16

I love all these different accounts too

A lot more relatable than some!

MistressOfTheGarter · 14/08/2018 18:17

ooohhh it was a jokeGrin

Followed!

Allthegoodusernamesaregonesad · 14/08/2018 18:17

GOMI is not Mumsnet. Start tagging GOMI

Rubbish! She's making herself upset over one person and one thread. No ones ganging up on her. People are allowed opinions!

GOMI isn’t here no, but she does get mentioned on here. And you must know she’s struggling with this.

People have taken issue with the fact she is literally lying about what has been said on this thread.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 14/08/2018 18:22

Just leave her out of it full stop. Seems the best thing to do.

SavannahSky · 14/08/2018 18:22

Abusive fan girls......coming over hurling insults

Hangingaroundtheportal · 14/08/2018 18:23

People are allowed to be critical. People are not allowed to call her a child abuser or a bad mum, but that was one person on one thread (who probably then went and said the same thing over on GOMI).

She can't make up stuff that isn't true about MN. It's out of order.

Breadsticksandhummus · 14/08/2018 18:24

And you must know she’s struggling with this.

And some of us are struggling with the fact that a place that has pulled us out of darkest possible places, that has been there at the 4am night feedings when it feels like the world is ending, is being slandered all over the internet as an evil place where there is no support or kindness. It's utter rubbish. This is a public and anonymous forum. Of course you will get arseholes on this. Just as you get arseholes on instagram.

You can see on this thread that any personal attacks have been deleted.

chickenlittle3 · 14/08/2018 18:24

Every time she or anything about her is discussed, you can very clearly see how paranoid she becomes. Understandable, given her difficult past. Please seek help.

I doubt this thread will last much longer.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 14/08/2018 18:26

I would hope mumsnet delete any comments about her from now on. I just don’t like seeing people upset like this, I’m not a fan girl.
