The president wants positive news coverage for himself and critical coverage of his adversaries. "Fake news", "enemy of the people" and all the other media-bashing is simply a means to achieving that goal.

In sport, the strategy is called "working the referee". It's the same idea in politics - but the stakes are much higher.

There's more to it than that, however. Mr Trump doesn't just want the referee's "calls" to go his way. His goal is to question the reliability the referee entirely.

Impeachment (or whichever amendment would let Cabinet take him out of office) plays into DT's conspiracy DeepState claims. Being voted out in 2020 is the best outcome (many argue).

I predict constitutional reform (amendments) after DT leaves office. To curb & define presidential powers, and possibly to reform electoral college rules.

We need a huge blue wave more than ever November 2018.

They are anti-Trump. I haven't met a pro Trump American on a train. They talk to me because I talk to them! I gave one a lift to his destination because of problems with the rail replacement bus and we have kept in contact. And a couple offered to pay my fare when they found I was going on the anti-Trump march.
But I talk to people constantly when travelling as I mostly travel on my own...

And they also think Brexit is shite.

He seems particularly unhinged this weekend.
