Marching Powder by Rusty Young.

LockedOutOfMN · 29/07/2018 22:32

Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the best book I've read in years.

What kind of books do you enjoy, OP?

This summer I've enjoyed reading several different books including quite a few "trashy" British and Danish crime thrillers.

LoveIsNotInTheAir · 29/07/2018 22:36

Ghosted by Rosie Walsh is FABULOUS

Feelingsad33 · 29/07/2018 22:44

I've just finished The Tent, the Bucket and Me by Emma Kennedy.
Hilarious. If you grew up in the 70's/ 80's you can totally relate to it.

Stephisaur · 29/07/2018 22:52

The Good Liar, by Nicholas Searle.

It’s about an older conman trying to con a woman out of her life savings but it has an excellent twist.

Feelingsad33 · 29/07/2018 22:52

Thanks all keep em coming. Read lots of terry Pratchett not heard of Neil gaiman though must try him.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 22:54

You must read Good Omens then!

Makegoodchoices · 29/07/2018 22:55

If you like sci-fi- the Wool trilogy is the best thing I’ve read in a while.

Makegoodchoices · 29/07/2018 22:56

But please read Good Omens first because it is fantastic!

Misericord · 29/07/2018 22:56

An American Marriage - couldn’t put it down.

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 29/07/2018 22:56

I don't read much Sci-fi but I really enjoyed

The End Specialist by Drew Magary
Jack Glass by Adam Roberts
The Passage by Justin Cronin

Hippychickster · 29/07/2018 23:01

Would second This Must Be the Place, Eleanor Oliphant and Americanah (although preferred Half of a Yellow Sun by same author)
My recommendations:
A Man Called Ove
Elizabeth is Missing
The World Versus Alex Woods
Rivers of London

At a spa atm so can't think of any others and can't remember authors but I know I liked these!!

strawberrypenguin · 29/07/2018 23:04

Ooh and Artemis by Andy Weir is good too!
