You are breastfeeding at home and someone rings the doorbell...do you:
A) open the door with baby at your breast
B) ignore the door, even if it’s clear you’re at home
C) put baby down and leave to cry, cover up and answer
D) other (but please indicate wtf other is as I’m baffled)

Just gave my postman an eyeful as I panicked and didn’t know what else to do! Not sure what the correct breastfeeding/door answering etiquette is. 🙈

Juanbablo · 27/07/2018 19:23

A. I had some muslins handy and just draped one over.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 27/07/2018 19:27

A for me, but I had those tips with a little slit for the nipple to go through so rarely was flashing loads of flesh.

shakeyourcaboose · 27/07/2018 19:30

A and generally threw on big cardi!

crispysausagerolls · 27/07/2018 19:31

Yay for all the postmen who have been “flashed” like mine! 😂

B. But that's because I never answer the door anyway.

Munchyseeds · 27/07/2018 19:59

Always did A...don't worry about It!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/07/2018 20:03

A!

longwayoff · 27/07/2018 20:05

This is what shawls were for. Pashmina maybe

emsiboob · 27/07/2018 20:06

A covered with a Muslim cloth.

TillyMint81 · 27/07/2018 20:08

I'd probably answer with baby still latched on.

happychange · 27/07/2018 20:08

A

Sunnybeachbabe · 27/07/2018 20:08

A but I'd peer round and ask if they'd be able to come back unless it was a close friend.

rebelrosie12 · 27/07/2018 20:09

A

Oysterbabe · 27/07/2018 20:11

I always do C but take the baby with me so they can see I'm busy. He usually doesn't complain for long.

greeneyedlulu · 27/07/2018 20:13

If it makes you feel better my postman never saw me fully clothed in the entirety of my mat leave!!
My front door is a 90 degree angle to my living room window where my sofa is where I just happened to be every morning breastfeeding!!
On the plus side he still smiles at me every time I see him!!

Excited0803 · 27/07/2018 20:14

I did A just this morning! Sometimes B. C if I can get away without baby tears.

seastargirl · 27/07/2018 20:20

D - attempt to do A but baby detatches just as you open the door and moves head so person ringing the men really does get an eyefull!

peanutpeanutbutterbutterandjam · 27/07/2018 20:21

BeautyBox · 27/07/2018 20:22

Bambamber · 27/07/2018 20:23

A but I have also be known to flash the postman when I've finished feeding but forgot to put my boob away, or not put it away properly so my nipple is poking out the top of my bra Blush

toolonglurking · 27/07/2018 20:26

A, I've never known the Jehova's Witnesses to leave so quickly Grin

TotHappy · 27/07/2018 20:30

A. But i fed everywhere, pulled down not up and no muslins. No shame. Once fed her most of the way round a round of mini golf!
Also was feeding in a service e station once, gave her to dh and went to the loo, only as i got to the toilets did i realise y boob was hanging out. So had walked across the whole services like that...

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 27/07/2018 20:32

A - in exactly the same situation as you, more than once! I gave up caring!

pktechgirl · 27/07/2018 20:40

A or B are acceptable.
I did A to several of our postmen and lovely postlady.
We ended up buying a Ring doorbell that that made it easier just to shout leave it on the mat.
