Joined a DIY group on Facebook... why is everyone covering anything they look at with sticky back plastic!?!

WIBU to counter all the "looks great hun" comments with a "WTF have you done to your fridge?!"

Lighthearted- I know I can just scroll on!

YANBU I think I know the group you mean and don't get it either. I also raise you the sticky backed mosaic tiles, surely they'll just drop off eventually?

That group is the only thing I miss about Facebook

The group is one of my guilty pleasures. One of my friends tried doing a frog tape wall. It looked shit but it makes us both laugh whenever we talk about it (probably me more than her- she had to paint over it with four coats of paint )

I just think ‘what about the 1st knife cut?’ - and when they get upset because the landlord isn’t impressed with the makeover, we’ll no, they won’t be, you’ve just knackered the kitchen coating it in crap!

What's the name of this group? I think I need it in my life whilst it's too hot to move and actually do anything in the evening at the mo

I don't know if I can name it but if you were looking to do DIY and you were on a budget it would be a good place to start

That group is so funny!

DIY on a budget! There's over a million members on there all coating their stairs/kitchens/doors in fablon, mosaic-ing their antique fire places with broken CDs, painting everything in glitter, wallpapering floors etc.
It's horrendous and amazing entertainment. I feel so sorry for all the landlords, I'd die if someone did that to my property.

Oh we did our bathroom cabinet with fablon, I thought it looked good!!

Love that group. I brought frog tape style wallpaper but have never got round to putting it up. So so so many huns

There is a 2nd group so i’m on both lol they make a total mess. Thr painting cupboards in council houses threads are popcorn 🍿 worthy.

One of the first things I saw about that group was a woman who cut up Poundland mirror sticker sheeting to replicate the broken CD mosaics. She stuck it all over the fire, in every alcove, on every shelf in the front room then started on her kitchen tiles. Might have done the stairs as well but I can't remember now. They blend together after a while.

Her DH came home and hated it, so she complained he didn't appreciate her efforts and how it had taken hours, which lead to a chorus of Ur house ur rulz hun type posts and angry facing the comments saying he lived there too.

It looked like a disco ball vomited everywhere.

I just saw an item on a local selling group that's covered in fablon, I've never seen anyone selling something decorated like this. Clearly it's fate telling me that I should join the group

I've done my kitchen and it looks nice
