More Time in Bed or Always Shower?

strawberrisc · 17/07/2018 07:04

For reasons I can’t go into (outing for sure!) I got little sleep last night andd have a knackering day ahead in work. AIBU to have a little extra time in bed and sacrifice a shower for (as Nessa would say in Gavin and Stacey) a personal wash? I also have dry shampoo!

Wouldn’t a shower be quicker? Takes about 2 mins if not washing hair.

InspectorIkmen · 17/07/2018 07:13

'Outing' reasons why you didn't get much sleep?

Please.

LaMainDeFatima · 17/07/2018 07:13

Yeah . I’m with you on that

ferrier · 17/07/2018 07:13

Shower does not take 2 mins.
I'd be worried in the current hot weather that a 'personal wasn't would be insufficient though.

bichonbaby · 17/07/2018 07:14

Wash body takes 90 seconds in shower, dry shampoo hair ..

SinglePringle · 17/07/2018 07:14

In this heat? Shower. Please.

ferrier · 17/07/2018 07:15

'personal wash'

MissMooMoo · 17/07/2018 07:15

Shower doesn't have to be long

NoSquirrels · 17/07/2018 07:15

If you’re already awake and posting on MN you’re not sleeping, so go and get in the shower!

NotTakenUsername · 17/07/2018 07:16

We ask the Internet should we shower now...? Hmm

SoyDora · 17/07/2018 07:16

Time lying in bed awake and mumsnetting won’t make you any less tired. Have a shower.

SoyDora · 17/07/2018 07:17

Or just do what most other people do and make the decision yourself.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 17/07/2018 07:18

It's not worth it. It's not enough extra sleep time to sleep up for feeling yuck later on.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 17/07/2018 07:19

*make up! Not sleep up Blush

OwlinaTree · 17/07/2018 07:20

In this weather? A shower for sure!

SirHubzALot · 17/07/2018 07:20

Better still - put dry shampoo in the night before and sleep in it - no grey hair when you wake up!

Oysterbabe · 17/07/2018 07:20

By the time you've posted and read replies you could have showered and dressed. Get in the shower you grubby urchin.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 17/07/2018 07:21

I'm not averse to a sink wash now and then but no way in this weather ...... def get in that shower. I have to commute with people who chesty haven't had a proper shower and it isn't pleasant 😷

BigSandyBalls2015 · 17/07/2018 07:21

Clearly!

MirandaWest · 17/07/2018 07:21

How could your reasons for not sleeping possibly out you?

FissionChips · 17/07/2018 07:25

Of course it’s posisble for a shower to only take 2 mins ferrier, unless you’ve been gardening or something else equally mucky .

NotTakenUsername · 17/07/2018 07:30

Ok... I can’t help but ask. Where is the op that the weather is so hot? She never mentioned her location.

strawberrisc · 17/07/2018 07:32

None reasons for sleep actually WOULD be outing! I’m not kidding. I decided on a few extra minutes to myself and a personal wash! I promise I don’t stink. It’s a little treat to myself.

Loopytiles · 17/07/2018 07:35

Attention seeking OP: was no need to mention anything at all in your post on why you didn’t sleep well.

speakout · 17/07/2018 07:36

Shower always a quick wash will take as long.

If I am in a hurry I go into bathroom, turn on shower, brush teeth while shower warms up, shower cap on jump in shower.
Whole process 4 minutes.

What's the alternative? Filling a sink and faffing around with a flannel?
