Parking situation on my new road.

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:43

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Parking situation on my new road.

I hope NNDN follows up with an email to her landlord to tell him/her what the police have said. I thought it was very unfair, and somewhat inappropriate of the landlord to ask her to play nice.

Littlemissdaredevil · 18/07/2018 21:42

Yes NNDN need to inform her letting agent what the PCSO said (which is NNDN is not being a twat)

PersianCatLady · 18/07/2018 21:49

I am wondering whether I should call 101 tomorrow and when I am told that there is nothing they can do, I shall say that they should call their officers in Poole

TheMonkeyMummy · 18/07/2018 21:57

Someone should definitely let the EA know about NNDN so she doesn't get a black mark on her dossier.

Brilliant outcome though, I am delighted for you all! Obv the other neighbours weren't 100% delighted either...

Wallywobbles · 18/07/2018 22:01

Surely it's time to order a skip or two.

Reaa · 18/07/2018 22:21

Hopefully that will be the end of it OP.

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 18/07/2018 22:36

neddle ooh maybe! We only moved over from Parkstone a few months ago so haven't got to know many neighbours yet.

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 18/07/2018 22:37

Hope that all settles down now JennaTools

AgathaF · 18/07/2018 22:40

That sounds like really good community policing - so nice to see. Well done OP for reporting. Sounds like a really good result. Hope it continues.

Lilmisskittykat · 18/07/2018 22:55

I love a happy ending 💕 I hope you get to enjoy your new home now in peace op

BlooBagoo · 18/07/2018 22:56

Great update. Long may it last!

RebootYourEngine · 18/07/2018 23:00

I have been lurking in this thread but wanted to de-lurk to say that I am glad it looks like it is now sorted.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 18/07/2018 23:12

Fantastic result. Well done NNDN.

And, Jenna, you've definitely raised the bar for future parking thread diagrams!

KissMeLikeYouMissMe · 18/07/2018 23:19

Glad you have made progress

I’m in Upton, give us a wave Grin

I don't want to piss on anyone's chips, but OP do you think that the CF might then just say oh yes and the police have been round and said that blocking our access is dangerous ...

Worlds0kayestmum · 19/07/2018 09:36

Great update, I'm really pleased for you OP

And ooh, yay. I'm in the BH crew too. BH23 here Grin

redshoeblueshoe · 19/07/2018 09:55

Yay 101 saves the day

CrazyDaisy2018 · 19/07/2018 10:00

What a fab update. Gutted that NNDN wasn't in when the police came though and I bet she was too!

Long may it last. I only hope they don't get fed up of having to walk further and the cars don't start drifting back...

I also hope that the thing they said about the estate agent telling them they were their spaces was a lie, otherwise they will no doubt be raising hell with them! (Even though they clearly should have and would have been told by the solicitor where their boundary lies)

JennaTools · 19/07/2018 14:42

Yes we are concerned they may play nice whilst big brother are watching and then revert to their old behaviour but if they do we know what to do now and we won't be intimidated.
Dmum says all quiet on the road and no cars parked badly.

I really hope they continue to behave themselves. 🤞

BTW, I didn't mean any disrespect with my "Small town, nothing else much to do?" comment.

As NicoAndTheNiners explained, i just meant that there was no reason to believe there was anything sinister going on based on the police's response. If the police are really busy, they'd probably fob you off and say it's not a police matter, but if it's a low-crime area and they don't have a lot on, then they can afford to send someone around for a chat. It's just one of those things.

M3lon · 19/07/2018 15:54

Very cool resolution!

AvoidingDM · 19/07/2018 16:34

My experience of police and parking problems is it's an easy way to issue some fines and hit some KPI targets.

So yes they will attend.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/07/2018 18:26

Dmum says all quiet on the road and no cars parked badly.

Just goes to show - they can do it if they try (as my mother always said to me)

PoppyField · 19/07/2018 19:50

I’m going to miss this thread.
