Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Parking situation on my new road.

Troels · 16/07/2018 15:18

Arggh I just read the whole thread, what was in the note?

Nanasueathome · 16/07/2018 15:19

It’s on the app
I can’t see it all but it says
...........
Park on your
EMPTY drive
Parking is hard enough on the close

Booboobooboo84 · 16/07/2018 15:20

DeepfriedPizza · 16/07/2018 15:20

MonkeysMummy17 · 16/07/2018 15:23

It's says
do not park here
park on your empty drive
parking hard enough
on close

Your new neighbours are right dicks op, are you going to move your car?

aaahhhBump · 16/07/2018 15:24

Photocopy the note and stick it on their car window.

SevernWye · 16/07/2018 15:27

I’d put a note through their door saying you are having trouble parking on your own drive due to the three cars they park that encroach over your drive. You politely explained this problem to them and they shut the door in your face.

wink1970 · 16/07/2018 15:27

OP, depending on the developer you may be able to get them to intervene/ put down double yellows. My DM managed this when her new build road was dominated by 1 family; the rest all ganged up on the developer until they did something (then again, it's privately patrolled so they could enforce the lines themselves). Worth a thought? They won't want you making a scene if they are still trying to sell nearby.

Beetlebum1981 · 16/07/2018 15:29

You should reply that you have to park at the end of your drive so that you can actually get out!

LaGattaNera · 16/07/2018 15:29

Put a note on CF's car and say you are unable to park on your drive as they block you in so once they change their ways you will be able to revert to using drive but that you are a model/spy/doctor and need to be able to leave at short notice Grin

Blueisland · 16/07/2018 15:31

This is so exciting. Keep posting! (Sorry your neighbours are horrible OP) You are an inspiration for standing up to them.

ceecee32 · 16/07/2018 15:31

Are you on a new(ish) estate with a managing agent. There is probably something in the lease about parking and the freeholders will be able to send out a letter to them

CatAnnoyance · 16/07/2018 15:35

Been following this with interest and I can't BELIEVE she's put that note on your car!!! This is CFuckery at its finest! What are you going to do OP? I'd be raving Angry

cuppaandcake · 16/07/2018 15:38

Best diagrams ever

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 16/07/2018 15:39

Sounds like time for you and all your neighbours to stop parking on your drives and use the road everytime a space appears.

eddielizzard · 16/07/2018 15:40

Horrible people. Jenna, you're right to park over the edge of your drive if that's the only way that guarantees you being able to get out. They are super CF's!

cjt110 · 16/07/2018 15:42

What an entitled bunch of arseholes. Just ignore her note. Let her scratch her empty skull trying to fathom out where she can park. And go out. Overnight.

KittyLover91 · 16/07/2018 15:43

Omg the pure cheek of her 😱 I'd be raging!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 16/07/2018 15:44

Turn the note over and write on the back. "The reason that I am parking across my own drive is because your cars have often blocked me out of my drive and I have had to park on a different street. I did mention it to your husband but he made a sexist comment about 'women drivers' and made no effort to be more considerate. There is a parking issue on this road, now that you have moved in with six cars and only one space on your driveway."

Coffeeisyourfriend · 16/07/2018 15:45

I hope you laughed really fucking loudly outside when you read that note then put it in an outside bin! What a CF, please don't move your car until you absolutely have to!!
