Where do kids from IoW go?

Not really an AIBU at all but its a burning question.
So pretty much all year 6 kids go to the Isle of Wight as their residential trip but where do the kids from the Isle of Wight go for theirs? Its eating me up inside not knowing!

No idea, but maybe somewhere like Calshot?

I don't know any kids who go to the IoW for a residential!

All the kids I know go to Wales, so maybe they do as well?

Two of my DCs went to London in Y6. The other to S.Wales.

We are on the IoW.

Ooo we used to go to the IOW as our end of primary residential! My DS went to Norfolk......

My dc didnt go to IOW, they did PGL but cant remember where.

Why would you think/assume that all year 6 children go to IOW for their residential? I don't know any school in my region that goes there.

My DC go on residentials every year from yr 4. They have never been to the IOW
(PGL, York, France, Snowdonia and the Peak District so far)

Where we grew up all the kids went to North Yorkshire. My daughter is about to start primary school in Gloucestershire and I'm not sure where everyone goes from here.

Ours go to Gweedore.

Our school (SW London) went to the IoW at the end of y6. DH (North London) went to York.

Ours went to Wales too, we're in Berkshire. Never had a school trip to IoW (but been ourselves).

When you say 'all year 6' you really mean a few schools in your local area surely?

I can't imagine many schools would travel more than 4 hours or so for a residential so there are huge parts of the country that wouldn't go to the IOW on distance alone. Most places around here go to Wales.

Where do kids from IOW go? Probably anywhere within a few hours of the IOW. There are loads of residential centre all over the country. Could be anywhere.

Some counties own their own outdoor centres so you'll find a lot of places in the same county will use the same places because their county council own them. I.e our county has 3 outdoor centres, one in the breacon beacons, one on the Gower peninsula and one in Exmoor, so many children from round here will tend to go to one of those places. Maybe your county has a place on the IOW hence you thinking that everyone goes there.

I live in Southampton and our year 6 kids don't go to the IoW...I

There are plenty of activity centres for kids in Hampshire so I daresay they cope.

I’m in south wales and know children from a variety of primary schools in my town, none of whom go to IoW, they all go to one of several activity centres in wales

When I was a child in north west England, all the schools went to one of several places in the Lake District

I’d hazard a guess that children in Scotland don’t go to IoW either!

I don't know any who went to the Isle of Wight. Mine (from London) all went to Wales.

My cousins lives there as kids and went to Bude in Cornwall (Devon?) for their residential trips.

Im from Hertfordshire and all the primary schools in my area go to the Isle of Wight so i just assumed everyone did tbh. My bad.
I went in year 6 and it was awesome.

I went to DH's home town for my end of primary school trip and he came to mine! Neither of us went to the IoW.

We LIVE in Wales and our kids still go to Wales for their residential #cymruambyth. I went to the IOW when I was in class 7 (Y6) though
