Not really an AIBU at all but its a burning question.
So pretty much all year 6 kids go to the Isle of Wight as their residential trip but where do the kids from the Isle of Wight go for theirs? Its eating me up inside not knowing!

ILovewould that have been CEC by any chance? And yes to foot passengers and get the coach the other side, I've done it quite a few times although sometimes minibuses on the ferries work out quite economically.

ILoveToLaugh · 14/07/2018 00:19

It was, Elephant, my friend's girls are there. Unfortunately, our primary doesn't have a minibus Sad, but location wise it's easy to get to the ferry for drop off so it works!

I'm from the midlands and we didn't go anywhere. I didn't feel deprived till I read this thread. You lot are obviously dead posh! Grin

My kids (Home Counties dontcha know!) went to Osmington Bay.

Monty27 · 14/07/2018 04:53

Dead posh? Grin
I'm south London. Mine went to France Holland and Austria. I drew the line at Canada to ski. And no not posh.
I've been to the iow many times when I lived down there in that forest with the wild horses Grin

womcombat · 14/07/2018 08:28

Osmington Bay or The wilderness Centre (Forest of Dean)

Never heard of anyone going to IoW

Two of my children went to the IOW in Year 6, despite the fact that they attended different Primary School...so it does happen! 😉

Thisismydilemma · 14/07/2018 08:44

I think Brighton schools go to IOW for year 5 residential.

AlexanderHamilton · 14/07/2018 08:45

Cheshire kids go to Wales. North Staffs kids go to South Staffs.

Notquiteagandt · 14/07/2018 08:54

I remember in l2 so we would of been 8. 2e went on a residential trip... 2 miles down the rd 😂 we drove past half the girls houses enroute.

Still dont understand how took us an hour. They must of drove around alot to make it seem further Grin

My DD went the IoW for her residential. I did too.

UndertheCedartree · 15/07/2018 00:10

Haha - I wonder! All the kids in our local area go to the IoW too!

DianaT1969 · 15/07/2018 00:19

I went to IOW in the final year of Primary. South London. Loved it!

Amethystical · 15/07/2018 00:22

My Y6 went to Forest of Dean

Amethystical · 15/07/2018 00:24

From Surrey should add

5foot5 · 15/07/2018 00:31

We live in Cheshire and our DD went to the Isle of Man. My niece and nephews lived in Derbyshire and they went to the Isle of Wight so the dividing line must run somewhere through the midland counties, Mind you most other schools in our area went to North Wales so I guess DD got lucky.

AmIthatbloodycold · 15/07/2018 00:33

Hmmmm thinking a week a Dalguise has short changed my DC.

We never got offered the Isle of Wight

Monty27 · 15/07/2018 00:48

Is this a competition? Grin
As long as whatever they did, they had fun
