Yesterday when picking up the dc from school. It was hot & I was wearing one of these stupid smock dresses. I wanted to strangle the stupid, nasty, ill-bred b*tch. I'd seen her the day before at a PTA mtg. She was sitting opposite me, wearing a t-shirt and I noticed a small roll of fat hanging over her jeans when she was sitting. I think she knows I noticed her roll & decided to get back at me? Still, I was seething. Still am.

One of the mums at ds1's school looked about 6 months pg when i met her in September. Now, 9 months later, she still looks the same! Glad i decided against asking her when it was due.

I've said it to one of the mums at school. I wanted the ground to swallow me up. She made it worse by looking very sad and saying 'and there was I thinking I'd lost a few pounds'. She did see the funny side but I swore never to guess out loud again.
I've also had it said to me (a couple of times) and usually reply with 'no, I'm just fat' and then relate the story of making the same mistake myself...blah blah.
Smock tops -only for pregnant women or super slim teens imo. They are not very flattering for anyone else at all. In fact, I don't think they are that flattering for pregnant ladies (but they can be quite comfortable and sometimes that's what counts

When I was 9 months pregnant and quite overdue I got totally p**d off by everyone saying,' Oooo haven't you had it yet ?' that I finally said ' no I'm not actually pregnant....' to the check out woman... Bit psychopathic of me but there you go...
