Yesterday when picking up the dc from school. It was hot & I was wearing one of these stupid smock dresses. I wanted to strangle the stupid, nasty, ill-bred b*tch. I'd seen her the day before at a PTA mtg. She was sitting opposite me, wearing a t-shirt and I noticed a small roll of fat hanging over her jeans when she was sitting. I think she knows I noticed her roll & decided to get back at me? Still, I was seething. Still am.

Actually, I did say "oooh, we could say the same thing about you, my dear!", patting her tummy. She had just patted mine.

What I don't understand is WHY be a bitch? Why?! What's the effing point of making someone feel bad? I thought she was nice enough before, def not kindred spirit material but okay...

And why does it bother me so much? Get a life, sauce!

Ah sauce - honestly she might not have deliberately set out to be bitchy. It could just be a genuine mistake. Give her the benefit of the doubt on this one

everyone looks pg in smock tops - give her a break

lionheart · 25/05/2007 13:05

It's a daft thing to say unless you know for sure someone is pregnant.

sauce · 25/05/2007 13:05

It's gorge! New from Zara & I love(d) it. It looks good around the neck area - my neck, chest & arms are reasonably un-chubby...

I am really struggling with the venom in your posts, is there an underlying reason ?

redtoenails · 25/05/2007 13:10

learn a lesson and don't wear it again. You got the most honest style advice you could ever get!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/05/2007 13:11

I agree. If this happened to me I would just laugh it off. Maybe a little hurt, but certainly wouldn't want to "strangle the stupid, nasty, ill-bred b*tch"

It sounds like you have some serious issues.

unknownrebelbang · 25/05/2007 13:11

People say things without thinking.

I'd be sneeped, rather than outraged, and think about going on a diet....after I'd eaten a bar of chocolate.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/05/2007 13:12

And I am quite surprised that most people who have posted on here are on your side. You sound like a pretty vile woman tbh.

BreeVanDerCamp · 25/05/2007 13:13

Ahem, I think you will find that I considered her post to be Chavtastic.

sauce · 25/05/2007 13:14

Thanks, Devil. You sound like a pretty nasty piece yourself.

Smock tops = maternity. Hate 'em!

She's living dangerously though - I always triple check before mentioning pregnancies because it's very easy to be wrong.

Laudaud · 25/05/2007 13:16

I've had a colleague mention her due date and another colleague saying "oh I didn't realise you were pregnant". She was quite a few months pregnant but was overweight so people didn't notice or like to ask. That was probably just as bad.

To OP you seem to be overreacting a bit and your response was hardly reasonable either. If you found it offensive, why be offensive back?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/05/2007 13:17

Sauce.
I sadly canot ignore that, so have taken your bait.
In what way do I 'sound like a nasty piece'?

BreeVanDerCamp · 25/05/2007 13:17

laudad - that tends to happen more I think. A number of mums with children in my DS's classes have suddenly appeared with buggies and brand-new babies and I never noticed them getting any bigger.

sauce · 25/05/2007 13:19

Sorry. Primark.

laudaud waves back {bloody namechangers}

Was just about to send you an email.

Okay sauce and Devil - back to your discussion - sorry for the interlude.

otter · 25/05/2007 13:20

i am looking inot one for my new house - did you put it in?

ps woman is a bitch!

sauce · 25/05/2007 13:20

As for venom in posts, it's tongue in cheek.

OP posts:
tinymum · 25/05/2007 13:21

You know what they say.....always better to let a pregnant woman stand on the bus then to make a chubby girl cry. LOL

Someone asked me when I was due about six months after my baby was born, I was embarrassed to have to say I'd already had it but to be fair I was still pretty overweight.

Laudaud · 25/05/2007 13:21

Otter,
Were you checking out to see if sauce looks pregnant?
