Can I justify this take away?

So DH is away for the weekend (happens rather less than once in a blue moon). He hates chinese food so if we have takeaway (very rare treat) then we get Indian. Tonight though I promised myself a chinese takeaway.

I’ve just found out that their minimum spend for delivery is £17! It’s only for me (toddler DCs have already eaten...). So do I: a) abandon my plans and have something else, b) put kids in the buggy in their PJs and take them with me to collect, or c) say sod it and order in a feast just for me? (and ignore the fact I’m suposed to be on a diet?)

WWYD?

I’d walk. Burn some calories, weather is nice and you treat yourself. Win win win.

rjay123 · 30/06/2018 18:44

Order your food. Top up with soft drinks to make £17?

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 30/06/2018 18:45

Order a feast and then you can have leftovers for lunch for a few days :)

Order it. Get crispy duck and pancakes

WhiteCoyote · 30/06/2018 18:46

I’d walk to get it. Seems a lot for one meal!

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 30/06/2018 18:46

Get the food.

Freeze any leftovers

Delight in finding Chinese food leftovers in the freezer in a few weeks time.

Currywurstmitpommes · 30/06/2018 18:47

ooh, crispy duck! and all for me. thanks everyone!

I'd walk, as I'm funny about reheating/freezing takeaway food. Only like eating it on the day. Except for pizza.

DollyDayScream · 30/06/2018 18:48

Have a feast! You only live once!

MrsMotherHen · 30/06/2018 18:51

get a feast!! do it!

BarbaraofSevillle · 30/06/2018 18:51

I'd walk for it or can you ask a friend to collect it and come round for a chat and a drink.

I wouldn't spend £17 for delivery, but our Chinese is very cheap and £17 would be enough for at least 4 people so the leftovers would be ridiculous.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 30/06/2018 18:57

Get it delivered woman. Crispy duck'll bump it up.

Tomatoesrock · 30/06/2018 18:58

Take a stroll when they are tired, so your food will still warm and enjoy.

17 minimum spend is OTT for delivery, it would probably make you sick and you'll bin most.

Get a delivery. Order sooner rather than later so you've got plenty of time to scoff it.

WatchingFromTheWings · 30/06/2018 18:59

Order £17+ worth, reheat any left overs for breakfast lunch.

Aeroflotgirl · 30/06/2018 19:02

Get it, than leave some for tomorrow, and maybe ext day. I got Chinese had lots left over and ate it over the course of 3 days. Stored in my very cold fridge and heated what I needed.

Westfacing · 30/06/2018 19:02

Yes you can justify it - eat the leftovers tomorrow. Surely for £17 you won't get that much?

Aeroflotgirl · 30/06/2018 19:02

I was absolutely fine, no poisoning. Just cool and straight to fridge

possumgoddess · 30/06/2018 19:06

What whatwouldleslie says. Definitely order a feast, but put some aside as soon as you get it for lunch tomorrow.

Lemoncordial · 30/06/2018 19:07

How far away is the restaurant?

DowntonCrabby · 30/06/2018 19:08

FEAST FEAST FEAST FEAST!

Sounds amazing, go for it xx

barleyfive · 30/06/2018 19:08

£17 doesn't go that far in a Chinese anyway to be honest, treat yourself :-)

Allabitmuchisntit · 30/06/2018 19:08

Right. If you’re doing this, then do it properly. Yes of course crispy duck. You’ll be needing prawn toast as well. Kids in bed, get your pjs on, wine, film, etc and no fucks given. What you don’t eat tonight, eat tomorrow.

I really bloody want a Chinese now.
