Because I’m under 30.

According to the oh so wise man in the pub.

What the actual fuck, who thinks like that Grin

Aibu to think he’s a weirdo one off or do lots of people have that opinion?!

Oh I don't either then.

I'll have to send DD back. Shame, I'm rather fond of her Grin

Smile,nod,slowly back away....Smile

CaledonianQueen · 20/06/2018 16:53

I had a five year old and a three year old when I turned 30 who would prove him wrong! Tell him to mind his own beeswax!

Rachie1973 · 20/06/2018 16:55

lol I had 4 by 30.

But then the Queen had her first when quite young too, so I'm in good company.

redexpat · 20/06/2018 16:55

Grin hope you told him it wasnt for him to comment on!

MinnieMinchkin · 20/06/2018 16:55

As long as the man in the pub isn't your partner, ignore Grin

WittyJack · 20/06/2018 16:57

Shame his mother didn't wait another year before having kids!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 20/06/2018 16:59

I just couldn’t believe it! I thought my husband was going to deck him 😂

How did the comment come about ? I'm imagining some guy going around the pub pointing at people going 'you're too young to have kids, you're too old to wear that, you don't suit those glasses....'etc!

ReadingRiot · 20/06/2018 17:04

Blimey it's not so long ago you were considered a "geriatric mother" if you had you first after 30

DolorestheNewt · 20/06/2018 17:04

If you'd had your children after 30, he'd be saying you left it too long - one of those career women, are you?

Anniegetyourgun · 20/06/2018 17:06

What a very strange viewpoint. A lot of people seem to think you shouldn't have any children if you're over 30. They're mad too.

formerbabe · 20/06/2018 17:06

That's so ridiculous, it's hilarious!

muffinthepuffin · 20/06/2018 17:08

Maybe he's a daily mail reader 🤷🏼‍♀️ too young, too old to breed/wear that/exist if you're a woman!

elliejjtiny · 20/06/2018 17:09

@InDubiousBattle I've met that guy Grin

alligatorsmile · 20/06/2018 17:10

"And you've got no business talking out loud if your IQ's under 90"

formerbabe · 20/06/2018 17:10

I think there must be a window of about 18 months when it is acceptable to have a baby in the eyes of random members of the public.

Mulberry72 · 20/06/2018 17:11

The 1st time I ever met MIL (about a month after meeting now DH) I was nearly 30 and she actually asked me what was wrong with me having no children at nearly 30!

Errr, nothing! I’d been in an abusive relationship for 10 years before I met DH and there was NO way I was bringing a child/children into that toxic situation!

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 20/06/2018 17:12

true, but nobody can agree on what that acceptable window will possibly be Grin Grin

No, I think if you're a woman you're always going to be wrong. It doesn't just apply to having kids.

Whatshallidonowpeople · 20/06/2018 17:16

How does he know you have kids and are under 30? Are you banging on about it endlessly? Or trying to breastfeed standing at the bar?

Wow, your husband sounds delightful. Does he often "deck" people?

claraschu · 20/06/2018 17:20

What's wrong with breastfeeding at a bar? Is a baby drinking milk somehow more disgusting than a grown up drinking his fourth pint of beer?

NKFell · 20/06/2018 17:26

I'm 29 and have 4, please can I have the address for the return...they certainly aren't going back where they came from Grin

Goostacean · 20/06/2018 17:26

An Uber driver told me women should finish having all their babies by 30. I was pregnant and 27, but he didn’t know my age! He then went on to tell me in graphic detail about how delivering his wife’s fifth baby nearly killed her. And how his one year old fell out of a first floor window. It was a long journey...

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 20/06/2018 17:32

why would anyone have a baby at a bar in the first place!
