A CF parking on my drive!

Soooo I've seen all the threads about CF's and their cars and today I'm here to share mine 🤣
So I moved into a new house last week. It's a townhouse with a drive for one car underneath (think garage without a door underneath the house). Different people seem to think they're entitled to my driveway. I've been saying at my mums 50/50 as we have a young baby and the house needs refurbing. So probably 3 out of the 5 days We've been here I come over in the morning and there is a white car parked in the drive. Couldn't figure out who it was til my cousin was over and saw him getting into his car (after being parked on my drive all night til 11am!) and confronted him. He lives in the flats across the road and down a bit. This morning I came over and someone different was in he space but sat in his car so told him to move. Once I'd parked I saw the white car coming in looking to park in my space again (it's sort of a cul-de-sac type thing) but went on to go in someone else space as I was in mine. These spaces are exclusive to each house and it is included in our rent. What would you do?

Tell the cheeky fuckers that it comes with your house and that you pay for it so do one or next time you'll let their tyres down....joking...maybe

steff13 · 15/06/2018 20:35

I'd have it towed.

gracielacey · 15/06/2018 20:35

Obviously YANBU.

Could you place a few cones for a while until they get the message?

KevinTheYuccaPlant · 15/06/2018 20:35

Ooh, do I get to be the first person to say penguin bollard?

Gincision · 15/06/2018 20:36

Block them in

itsbritneybiatch · 15/06/2018 20:36

Two parking threads in one night. We are
Spoilt!

Can you get penguin bollards? Or a chain with a padlock? Just till you move in properly?

Then the right thing to do would be to block him in and post a diagram and start a thread Grin

itsbritneybiatch · 15/06/2018 20:37

Kevin you beat me ShockSmile

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 20:38

Block them in then hide and watch the drama unfold 😉

LittleMe03 · 15/06/2018 20:39

Doesn't matter how clear the explanation is I think we need a diagram! Grin

Emma198 · 15/06/2018 20:39

You should live update Mumsnet next time it happens, of course.

Meganj95 · 15/06/2018 20:58

Next time they do it I will park my car over and wait for them to knock and explain to me why they think they're entitled to my private driveway!

They actually did it while we were moving in! I dropped some stuff off and went back to my old house to get more, the windows were open lights on and they still did it cheeky fuckers

Could you put up a 'Private -No Parking' sign? A very large, neon flashing one!

booellesmum · 15/06/2018 21:10

I would block them in and go out for the evening.

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 15/06/2018 21:13

At first I read it as your cousin was parking on your drive Blush

I'd talk to your landlord about getting a bollard or chain installed.

LittleMe03 · 15/06/2018 21:44

They are taking the p**s because they see you are not there full time

Marmablade · 15/06/2018 21:47

Block em in and start drinking!

44PumpLane · 15/06/2018 21:48

Exceptional diagram OP!!!

starzig · 15/06/2018 22:11

Put spikes down. Oops must have dropped them on MY space

Bearfam · 15/06/2018 22:27

I'm really struggling to understand why anyone would think it was OK to park on your driveway. Does this happen to other people in the street? Perhaps if the house was empty and unused for a long period people just started parking there? Still not something I think is remotely normal behaviour! I'd block them in as suggested by other posters then they can explain why they think it is normal to park on your drive.

SimonBridges · 15/06/2018 22:31

I kind of see that it is not obvious (if you are an idiot) that the space belong to your flat.

Can you just put up a sign on the back wall saying ‘this space belongs to flat 3’ for example?

Block them in

But long term ask for a bollard to be fitted?

concretesieve · 15/06/2018 22:41
