Just let the dog out for his bedtime pee when I heard the strangest noise coming from next door.
We live in a terrace and it’s quite mild tonight so the windows in all the houses are open.
The noise I heard was almost like a wretch but then when I went inside I could hear it more clearly from upstairs and it was more like the noise you hear people make when they are punched and involuntary let out an “arghh”... It happened numerous times and has now stopped.
I was off to bed but maybe I should go round and check everyone is ok?

We've had a stomach bug in our house his week and I'm sure or neighbours have probably heard those exact noises from our house too...

Weights would make more sense actually. The noise did sound similar to that I’ve heard at the gym. I didn’t think of that. I guess I was thinking it was quite late and i can think of nothing worse than exercising after dinner but that’s just me!

Martial arts practice. Some people make fully ridiculous noises on the breath out.

Whenever you hear weird, human noises in the night where humans are unlikely to be, it's a fox.

"I heard a cough!" - Fox.

"I heard weird martial arts noises!" - Fox.

"I heard a baby!" - Fox.

"I heard a toddler having a tantru-" STILL A FOX, THEY SOUND FUCKING UNGODLY AT 4 AM.

"I heard snoring" - That's probably a hedgehog, but if it's not, it's a fox.

Well yesterday evening, it was very dark and my dog was going nuts barking by the gate which leads to quite a long drive.

I stood quietly beside him in the dark to try to see what he was barking at without alerting anyone as there have been a few break ins,....and I saw a shadow moving up the fence along the drive...as though someone was walking down the drive towards me...BUT THERE WAS NOBODY THERE!

Football has been on. Probably ooing and arghhhhing at it.

My parents called the police one night when they heard screaming. The police came and investigated and, colditz will be delighted to hear, they concluded it was foxes.

Puking?? When I'm sick it's literally the most dramatic sounding version of being sick ever as I audibly complain between barfs so everyone in the house is aware how awful I feel 😂

If you live next to me it's DH puking his ring up, interspersed with nasty diarrhoea. Or possibly both simultaneously. Don't come round, it's not healthy here!

Agree foxes sound terrible. I remember being really worried there was a lost young child outside in the woods crying in the dark. When DP came home straight away he said it was foxes. I am used to the noises they make now.
