To wonder what the hell I just heard?

Just let the dog out for his bedtime pee when I heard the strangest noise coming from next door.
We live in a terrace and it’s quite mild tonight so the windows in all the houses are open.
The noise I heard was almost like a wretch but then when I went inside I could hear it more clearly from upstairs and it was more like the noise you hear people make when they are punched and involuntary let out an “arghh”... It happened numerous times and has now stopped.
I was off to bed but maybe I should go round and check everyone is ok?

My vote goes for some kind of exercise - possibly martial arts, as there is some breathing involved in that! Or weights.

Foxes having sex is the most ungodly noise. The last time it happened, my neighbour came around very scared the next morning to ask what the dreadful, unearthly screaming had been. She had been reading a horror novel and was totally spooked.

@ZaZathecat is that something that you can play on x-box? I know they have one as I’ve heard fighting style (gun shots) coming from the house before so it could have been tennis... Would it be possible to get so into a computer game though?!
