I’m naturally quite a lazy person but I’m trying to up my exercise each day as wanting to lose 2 stone and also just be healthier in general.

At the moment I only walk 6k steps (around 3 miles) per day and that’s it really.

More than a lot of people but less than I should, as I work in a desk job (the bloody ruin of me!) and desperately need to move more.

So I do between 3-6 HIIT/Cirtcuits classes a week, with some strength work sometimes too.

FlirtyRomanticToast · 07/06/2018 15:35

Gym four days a week - strength training then HIIT twice a week, strength again followed by less intense cardio twice a week. I also try to get some form of exercise on two of my 'rest days', a walk or a cycle usually and then one day completely off.

SwimmingKaren · 07/06/2018 15:37

About ten hours plus a week at the moment but I’m training for an endurance event and will then be putting my feet up until Christmas. Grin

Nicknacky · 07/06/2018 15:38

Some weeks I do more than others depending on my shifts. This week I’ve had 6 sessions and should be the same next week. Others weeks I try do a min of 4 times a week.

I always hated PE at school and have always been very unsporty.

I've never driven and have always been happy to walk so decided to start walking to work and back each day. That's 2 miles each way. Recently I decided that was good for me, but I wasn't doing anything to increase my heart rate so downloaded the couch to 5k app. Now I run to work in the morning and walk home at the end of the day.

I've joined a gym and go on a Sunday. I mostly use the resistance machines, but do a bit of cardio stuff.

lola006 · 07/06/2018 15:41

My normal week is 2 spin classes and 3 ballet/barre type workouts, all at the local sports centre. Plus my DC and I always walk the mile to school, so extra mile home for me, in the morning.

^ doesn’t always happen, obviously things get in the way but I aim for 3-4 classes no matter what plus all the walking.

PinkHeart5914 · 07/06/2018 15:42

Pole dancing class 1x a week

Running 5x a week

Exercise bike for 10km per day

Sirzy · 07/06/2018 15:43

Generally run 2-3 times and 1-2 gym classes

DeepFatFriar · 07/06/2018 15:43

Four hours of weightlifting

UnSub · 07/06/2018 15:43

I have a LOT of health problems but walk for about 10-15 minutes 4 times per week. Not ideal but its bloody good for me!

Onlyoldontheoutside · 07/06/2018 15:44

Sometimes I have to get up to recharge my phone.

Evigglad46 · 07/06/2018 15:45

Nothing at all. Amazed how you find the time!

Oysterbabe · 07/06/2018 15:46

I walk a lot and that's it. I am pushing a heavy double buggy while walking too.

cafenoirbiscuit · 07/06/2018 15:46

only please will you be my best friend?

thirstyformore · 07/06/2018 15:53

Approx 25 miles running (usually over 4 runs), a HIIT session and 1/2 short strength sessions at home.

Cathena · 07/06/2018 16:06

I'm actively trying to lose weight and currently doing

  • half an hour on the cross trainer at lunch (gym on site at work)
  • half an hour on the cross trainer after work (same gym)

these two sessions get me to my 10k steps easy.

I also have 'intentions' of getting up and running 5k 3-5 mornings a week, but so far have managed that about once a week.

I also do Yoga on Saturdays.

Have lost 17 pounds doing this plus MFP

Mominatrix · 07/06/2018 16:10

Walk the dog every day 3-4 miles every day. Run 4-5 times a week, minimum of 30 miles total for the week. Core exercise 2x a week, weights once a week.

cablewable · 07/06/2018 16:14

I find the classes and gym so expensive so my exercise is walking the school run and cleaning the house. I'm on my feet at work so I suppose that counts. 😕😕

Frosty66612 · 07/06/2018 16:17

@cable I’m the same and don’t want to go to the gym as trying to cut back on my spending. I think I’m going to up my walking and also do some HIIT at home each day

Feeling lazy here :(

How do you all find time? Do you not work? Never see your family?

I have two primary aged children and work full time. I get up at 6.30am (leaving the house at 8 after getting everyone ready) and get home at 6.30pm. I'm busy until 9pm doing dinner, making packed lunches, washing up, getting children ready for bed, reading with them etc.

Then I collapse in a heap for an hour or so before bedtime.

Weekends are taken up with housework, homework, gardening, seeing close family, cooking and trying to spend a little bit of time doing nice-ish things with the children.

I sing in a community choir one evening a week (mad rush to get there) and we sometimes get together with friends at the weekend. My OH pulls his weight on the whole.

I do walk briskly to work and back (about an hour a day) and rarely sit down at home until 9ish, but my job is desk-based and I really NEED that hour of slobbing-out at the end of the day!

How on earth do you all fit in so much exercise??

19lottie82 · 07/06/2018 16:20

Gym (weight training) 3 times a week, and I go boxing training for 90 mins, once a week.

thismeansnothing · 07/06/2018 16:21

Between 10-15,000 steps a day

Walking football once a week
2-3 gym sessions (weights)
2-3 runs a week

MrsPMT · 07/06/2018 16:26

Do approx 3 mile walk every day with the dogs.

OP is your walking general walking around or a specific walk? because to improve fitness/lose weight I wouldn't count normal walking around (yes it helps with general fitness if you are very unfit but won't make you 'fit').

Frosty66612 · 07/06/2018 16:28

@mrspmt it’s a specific walk I go on after work through the park and woods

CantankerousCamel · 07/06/2018 16:30

CrossFit 3/4 times a week
1 or 2 hour dog walk every day
