TO ask what colour your living room is?

We have a big living room which is a mix of dark flooring and red decoration - bloody awful.

We've just bought light distressed oak wooden flooring which DH is busy installing but what to do with the rest of it?

I want it light, possibly yellows and pale greens. The walls are currently standard magnolia with a red flowered feature wall (I know!).

What colour are your walls and do you have a feature wall?

Will White all round be too much?

Mines all white, it’s a big room.

White with a feature wall of duck egg blue. Skirting boards are grey/blue. Very light and fresh.

White with some decorative plasterwork picked out in silver.

When do you use the room, when does the room get direct daylight, and what kind of lighting do you use?
We get harsh midday sun and nothing in the evening when we mainly use the room, so our warm colour scheme might not suit your room.

You can use all white walls and colours in the curtains and furniture. Pale greens is a classic colour to go with blonde wood.

We’ve just redecorated our living room like this with natural calico colour for skirtings and windowsills. All ready for my new sofas!

Orange.

Sounds mad I know, but I love it. Victorian house, high ceilings. There's a picture rail a couple of foot from the ceiling and everything above that is white.

We have a duck egg feature wall, and light brown walls, which matches parts of the feature wall.
Opus mango furniture and brown leather suite.
I love the way it looks so much that we decorated the exact same way when we moved house 😂

Greys are very popular just now too.

Walls and wood work all white, couch, pictures etc purple. Laminate floor called crested oak so a silvery/grey/white. Very bright and fresh looking.

Crown Sunday School. It’s a sort of greige. Really like it.

My walls are pale green, willow tree, by dulux (I think) with a dark red carpet, green sofa and creamy lemon colours curtains.

Ours is all white. With the wood flooring, fireplace and non matching furniture in different colours and textures, it doesn’t need colour on the walls at all.

(We had a mixture of skimming stone and elephants breath before that and it felt so dreary! I don’t know how people manage to pull off grey shades)

Sulphur yellow accent wall, the rest are a very pale grey. Walnut flooring.

Warm alpaca... it's valspar like a very light beige brown with dark brown carpet and leather sofas and reclaimed wood accents and neutral tartan curtains

We have a wooden floor, with red accents around the room. I found this picture on-line and used the same colour in our room. The paint is from the Little Greene Paint Company and the colour is Boxington Green. Excuse small child, but this is it on our walls at nighttime.

White above the picture rail, dark blue below with geometric patterned paper in the alcoves. Sanded back the floorboards so natural colour flooring, white architrave and gloss work but oak door.
Mustard sofa is being delivered tomorrow, soft furnishings will be to fit the colours but not picked anything out yet.

Feature wall in Plummet the other three are in Pointing ( F & B), woodwork in white.

Egyptian cotton, greige, white woodwork, oak floor, greige sofas and rug. Can easily change things up with different accessories that way, I would get very fed up of bold walls.

Dulux Crushed Aloe- green. With a slate floor, and a green and lavender highland check rug. Plain pine skirting. Annie Sloan fjord painted furniture.
