How do I look?

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:32

I would really like to post a photograph, showing what I feel is my enormous flabby stomach. I destest it. I wish I had done more earlier in the year to tackle it. As I am, I am 2 weeks from my holiday and feeling wholly conscious of it.

Do I really look as bad as I feel I do? What do others see?

Should I?

Go on. We will all have seen worse. Too late for gym/diet but not too late for buying swimwear/clothes if you have the money.

ShirleyPhallus · 25/05/2018 14:34

What on earth will this achieve? It will only take one unkind comment to make you feel awful.

Pre-holiday, buy a swimsuit with a control panel, have a spray tan, cut down on carbs and do some walking, and then relax and enjoy your holiday

ThePinkOcelot · 25/05/2018 14:35

Without seeing the photo, you have 2 choices. First, feel depressed that you didn’t do anything and totally ruin your holiday. Maybe the only one you’ll get until next year, or second you could think shut, wish I’d done something but I didn’t andgo and enjoy your holiday regardless!
The second option is what I’m going to do. X

Don't post a photo of your stomach you will be looking at posts wondering if people are just being kind or maybe lying to you, we all have different body shapes and it is ok to not like this or that but you need to let it go and nobody on your holiday will be looking or judging flabby bits.

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:36

I just don't know what to do now Shirley so thank you for your suggestions. I am so cross and upset with myself for leaving it so late. I knew what I needed to do, I fucked around and here I am.

It is all encompassing me at the moment - stupid I know. I have some beautiful bikinis bought for my holiday - I promised myself I would wear one - and I am going to feel so conscious.

Very tempted to give something like slim fast a bash for the next 2 weeks.

Don't.

You'll just get some people saying nice things and some not.

It won't help your mental health (which you know is the issue, not your stomach)

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:38

Perhaps I need to boost myself in other ways - nails done, hair done or something similar?

Wear your beautiful bikini. That’s what people will see. I think huge sunnies are good for a film star look.

ShirleyPhallus · 25/05/2018 14:39

Have to say that you can make a HUGE difference in two weeks. Seriously, put down the junk food now and get moving.

Even if you feel a bit less bloated you’ll feel loads better about yourself

MrsJayy · 25/05/2018 14:39

You could do shakes and then buy a over bikini cover thingy to wear when you are wandering about

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:39

PatriciaHolm My MH is telling me I look awful. That everyone will be looking at me. And yes, as you say, I know 100% that is the issue here. I wish it wasn't

Are the shakes a silly idea MrsJayy or a reasonable thing to try? I would like to try and damage limit, if you can with 2 weeks left, as best I can and try to feel nice on my hols.

Shellac nails will see me through a whole holiday. A haircut that doesn’t need much attention would also be good. I’ve never had a spray tan but I always have tan envy.

DialsMavis · 25/05/2018 14:40

If you low carb from NOW and start the 30 day shred or similar you will see a difference.... I rarely follow my own advice but when I do it works Smile

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:41

30DS - my god, I had forgotten about that! 2 weeks of that could help! Thank you Flowers

You could look at exante? Meal replacement shakes

What is your height and weight?

user1471459936 · 25/05/2018 14:43

Stop snacking. Drink lots of water. Paint your nails. Haircut. Where are you going? Must be somewhere hot with bikinis. Have loads of fun!

cjt110 · 25/05/2018 14:44

Im 5ft tall. My weight is 11stone 8 Blush I look like a fucking blimp on legs.

IT's that old adage but I used to be 9 stone. I wish I was as "fat" now as I thought I was then.

We're off to Gran Canaria for a week whilst DS goes away with my parents for a week. MY confidence has taken a HUGE dive as my waistline has expanded. Yes, most is due to what I eat but I also suffer from an underactive thyroid and ME, which I don't think has helped.

Try Pilates (10 hours to a new body). The best book I think is Brooke Siler's "The Pilates Body". There are 7 levels described fully and perhaps more importantly a 5 minute routine to start you off slowly. You can do this several times a day to build up. A flabby tummy will be minimised by a strong core. Also YouTube has videos if you can't get to a book shop. Good luck and as pp have said, fake tan (and maybe a beautiful wrap to match your bikini?) Enjoy your holiday, remember walking tall is very slimming!

user1471459936 · 25/05/2018 14:47

You need to enjoy it and stop worrying. Buy a big chiffon(?) dress type thing / cover up to pop on whilst walking around with your bikini underneath.

juneau · 25/05/2018 14:48

Cut out sugar and only eat carbs at breakfast time for the next two weeks. Take some exercise every day. And buy yourself a swimsuit with 'tummy control' features. With only two weeks to go that's your best bet. But then go and enjoy yourself, because there's no point ruining your holiday over it.

MumofBoysx2 · 25/05/2018 14:49

Don't post a photo. Two weeks isn't far away, but then again neither is 4 weeks, and if you up your exercise levels and lower your calories then you will definitely see a difference in 4 weeks time. Try to set a lifestyle change. Try to relax and enjoy your holiday (see if you can get more walking done during your hol so the extra treats don't show so much).

MrsJayy · 25/05/2018 14:52

You know the shakes may or may not help but if it helps you feel better then doit, but my personal opinion is we should work with what you have got.

Get a sarong (i remembered it wasn't a coverup doodah Grin ) if you are not feeling brave and enjoy your holiday , there is going to be thinner/fatter people all around you so you need to take a deep breath and just fake it. Btw I am your height and you can feel dumpy and blah sometimes
