WWYD friends tattoo mistake

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:01

Both my friend and her DH had matching tattoos today, but both have 'could of' instead of 'could have'... WWYD... Gently inform her to save a shred of her dignity or save my embarrassment to point it out and say nothing? I know its not issue of the century but Im interested to hear what others would do.

Well clearly it’s not fixable so you say nothing and politely smile and nod

ItchySeveredFoot · 24/05/2018 20:03

I wouldn't say anything. Not much they can do now. How can people not realise though!?

StealingYourWiFi · 24/05/2018 20:03

Say nothing

afreshnewname · 24/05/2018 20:03

What does the tattoo actually say?

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:04

That's what I would do personally but she is the kind of person who may be upset I didnt tell her lol

Maybe it’s the way she speaks? a lot of people say could of instead of could have although it isn’t right.

I would just leave it OP.

Calvinlookingforhobbs · 24/05/2018 20:04

Say nothing! The messenger ALWAYS gets shot!

TowerRavenSeven · 24/05/2018 20:05

"Could of" or "Could have" what? What context is it in? I'd also just let it be whatever the context. It's not like they can do anything about it now.

Mycatsarebetterthanyours · 24/05/2018 20:06

Don't say anything, it's not your place to.

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:06

I didn't like her fb photo just to pretend I didn't see it! I personally would stick my head in the sand and plead ignorance... It intrigued me what others may think

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/05/2018 20:07

What is the rest of the tattoo? Confused

ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 20:07

There's nothing she can do about it now, so I wouldn't upset her by saying anything.

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:08

The tattoos say 'If our love could of saved you'

OP posts:
AnneProtheroe · 24/05/2018 20:08

Does it say "could of gone to a tattoo artist who can spell" Grin

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:09

i assum she meant 'could've'

OP posts:
User467 · 24/05/2018 20:09

That doesn't sound like the sort of tattoo that you point out an error on

Optimouse · 24/05/2018 20:09

It sound like it's a tattoo for a death... Say nothing and be kind

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:09

now Im at it... 'Assume' Grin

OP posts:
sycamore54321 · 24/05/2018 20:09

If there is a way it could be fixed, then very diplomatically say something- but I imagine that would only work if "could of" is at the end of a line and the rest of the text continues underneath. And it isn't framed by a box or something

Otherwise I think you need to stay silent.

Or hope that she reads this thread!

AdaColeman · 24/05/2018 20:10

Maybe she thinks "could of" is correct, she would not be alone!

AnneProtheroe · 24/05/2018 20:10

Oops so sorry Blush

FrustratedBeyond · 24/05/2018 20:10

Im glad you all agree!!

OP posts:
RevCurry · 24/05/2018 20:10

You can't say anything but it would irritate me every time I saw it!

ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 20:10

Would I be right in deducing (from the context you've given) that the tattoos are a memorial to a loved one? In which case, there is even more reason not to say anything about the error.

overnightangel · 24/05/2018 20:10

Tell her!
Better coming from her friend than spending the rest of her life being mocked by all and sundry
