To be shocked...

This probably sounds silly.

I visited my bank today and a man came in and wanted to walk past me (I was in a narrow corridor).

Instead of saying "Excuse me", he put his fingers on either side of my waist and lightly pinched me. I sort of yelped and he walked past me.

I really wish I had politely told him that I didn't like this, but I chickened out.

I'm making a fuss about nothing, I know, but it has shaken me.

I don't think you're making a fuss about nothing! A complete stranger put his hands on you for no reason? Totally out of line!

Slapbetcommissioner · 23/05/2018 18:33

You're not making a fuss about nothing and you're not being unreasonable. WineFlowers

iklboo · 23/05/2018 18:34

I don't think I'd have been remotely polite.

WitchSharkadder · 23/05/2018 18:35

YANBU. That’s awful behaviour and I’d be shocked too. What a twat he is.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 23/05/2018 18:36

There’s a chance I’d have hit him, I’m massively jumpy. Prick.

Takfujuimoto · 23/05/2018 18:38

I think my foot would have said fuck you to his back.

YANBU op, ThanksGin

SluttyButty · 23/05/2018 18:44

I'd be absolutely furious and quite possibly have sworn at him in a very shouty voice!

blaaake · 23/05/2018 18:46

@iklboo me neither. He would've got a slap at the very least.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 23/05/2018 18:48

He’d have fucking heard me. The whole bank would. Angry

GunpowderAndLead · 23/05/2018 18:49

I think I would have naturally screamed and then be raging shouting

athingthateveryoneneeds · 23/05/2018 18:50

What a horrible human being. He had no business touching you.

KittenBeast · 23/05/2018 18:52

I don't think I'd scream and shout, but I'd let him know it wasn't on.

Bluntness100 · 23/05/2018 18:56

Thank god for that, it was starting to look like a competition on who could have thr most extreme reaction 🤣

Glassofredandapackofcrisps · 23/05/2018 18:56

Yanu horrible twat. God men like this get my goat.

Windyone · 23/05/2018 19:03

Bluntnes100 it seems that the man could behave any way he wanted so I think it's fair that the person he did it to can behave any way they want

SabineUndine · 23/05/2018 19:03

Not the least bit silly. That is assault. I would mention it to the bank. He’s probably on cctv and they might know him.

buttonz · 23/05/2018 21:30

Thanks all.

Not sure what to do, if anything, but I'm upset.

OP posts:
buttonz · 25/05/2018 18:01

Update, if anyone's interested!

I reported him to police and they will check CCTV, get his name and address and (if they are satisfied with my version of events after watching CCTV) either issue him with a caution or, if he has previous convictions, arrest him and there will be a court case.

The police say it is definitely an assault.

athingthateveryoneneeds · 25/05/2018 18:02

Good on you, op!

Whatshallidonowpeople · 25/05/2018 18:15

Assault!! Dear me.

Verywprried · 25/05/2018 18:17

So OTT, a bit of an overreaction

Faez · 25/05/2018 18:20

lock him up and throw away the key

Verywprried · 25/05/2018 18:21

On second thoughts this must be a joke. Nobody would report that to the police and surely they wouldn't take it seriously. What a waste of police time if they did!

MissionItsPossible · 25/05/2018 18:24

The police have said this could go to court? Hmm

expatinscotland · 25/05/2018 18:29

Jesus! I have PTSD and if someone did this to me my reaction would probably have involved the physical.
