AIBU To think Victoria Beckham is a right mardy, stroppy looking mare. Anybody see the way she was looking out the corner of her eye at the crowds. Not a hint of a smile.

I find it awful that women feel they have to disable themselves for the sake of looking good. If you have to be supported to walk, they're not proper shoes.

She looks miserable. I thought maybe they have had a row. Looks happier inside. He is not all she makes him put to be I think. She's presented a perfect family and now is stuck there

I thought the grumpy look was simply because she found she wasn't the centre of attention to which she has become entitled.

Its not over invested at all to comment on how miserable someone looks, and so what if we have no idea how miserable she is. We all have miserable days, but in her case it's all her days. But ffs she's at a wedding, most peopke know how to put on a happy face.

Yes, we are - and I am saying, as a point of comparison, that there are dour male celebrities out there who don't attract this level of comment.

The whole language around women to smile "cheer up luv" !give us a smile" etc is weird. Why should she smile? Who cares?

As I said, there is footage online of her smiling and animated (with little ant and dec for example) and she was animated in the congregation footage.

In an age where the paparazzi would say or do things to get an emotional reaction (like making Diana cry or whatever) I think it is fair enough having a poker face!

Why the hell should she smile? Because she's female? There's a thousand reasons she might not feel like smiling today, none of which we have the right to know. But no - she's female & a celebrity, therefore must have a permanent smile plastered on. Hmm

Do you smile all the time? When you have period pain? Had a row with your DH? Turned your ankle because you're wearing new heels? Been up all night with one of your sick kids? Smile, you're female.

It's weird, MN always seemed quite strongly feminist to me, but it seems to have turned into the Heat Magazine forums today. I'm surprised.

Commenting on the fact that VB NEVER smiles in public is in no way the same as telling women that they must always smile and look happy.

It is totally fucking weird to have a policy of never smiling in public. Imagine caring about your image that much that you'd avoid doing something as utterly natural as smiling just because other people are looking about you, even as a guest at somebody's wedding.

The non smiling must be for the wrinkles. Latoya Jackson used to have this anti wrinkle policy of not talking for 4 hours a day Hmm

The poor woman looks unwell and it's quite shocking to see. People round here who know them from the school also know that he basically carries on as he likes and with whom he likes. It's obviously very hard for her and I think she can't be bothered to even put up a pretence any more.

I've met her at a function I was working at and although she was really personable she was very nervous and twitchy. I felt a bit sorry for her as it seemed to come from a place of anxiety. She didn't strike me as someone who is comfortable in their skin.
