AIBU To think Victoria Beckham is a right mardy, stroppy looking mare. Anybody see the way she was looking out the corner of her eye at the crowds. Not a hint of a smile.

Here she is not only smiling but making everyone around her smile as well.

You said VB was the only one to look miserable though. Which isn't true.
So what about the queen not smiling apricot?

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 12:59

You know what I mean Apricot, why is she mentioned in the wedding threads, and why has someone decided to make a VB bashing thread, it's like school girl bullying, with everyone jumping in to add another kick while she's down. Childish and bullying behavior.

JaneJeffer · 20/05/2018 13:02

For me the grumpiest looking person was Prince Andrew. He looked miserable the whole time.

She has, so I’ve read nasty bunions, and speaking as a fellow sufferer walking over those cobbles in heels would have killed.

She was notably smiley as soon as she was with friends in the chapel, the footage with David, Elton and the Blunts shows a totally different perspective.

I reckon she’s a really good laugh when she lets her hair down.

I thought the entire royal family (not Charles) looked downcast.

biscuitraider · 20/05/2018 13:42

I cannot believe the amount of hatred towards a woman that non of you lot even know, it's funny that she's well dressed, Rich, handsome husband, great job, lovely kids, a wardrobe to die for, make up collaboration with Estée Lauder, and apparently has a great sense of humor. Of course she's ripe for the picking.

So we shouldn't have opinions on celebrities on the grounds of "not knowing them"?, so only positive opinions then. Hmm The fact that she's rich, great kids, great career etc is why people take a dislike to her?.......wrong, it's nothing to do with jealousy at all. There's loads of rich, beautiful, successful women in the world, who receive nothing but admiration. VB gets a good mix imo, but many don't like her, probably because she comes across as shallow, materialistic and money grabbing. On top of that the woman is as miserable as sin, not hard to see why. Jealousy has fuck all to do with it.

biscuitraider · 20/05/2018 13:56

Picking apart and being unduly mean about someone you don't know is odd and says a lot about the person doing it.
But we do know her, in the way we "know" all celebrities who push themselves on us and overload us with every aspect of their lives. I'm sick of this idea that we shouldn't comment on celebs because we "don't know them", what's bloody odd about it? Confused ......that means then we shouldn't ever discuss celebs at all, even saying good things. The thing is, if you put yourself in the public eye and make a pile of money out if it, it has to be accepted that people will have opinions, and not all of them will be good, and we certainly don't have to "know" them to do that.

I'm sure she is a lovely woman Buster and you are right, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, but she looked so dejected yesterday that nobody could help but notice that. Even DH commented and he's couldn't be less interested in this kind of thing if he tried. She looked kind of hollow, as if she's going through the motions.

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 14:32

She looked like she always does, that is her face, she isn't a smiley person.

RoadToRivendell · 20/05/2018 14:33

I quite admire VB and I'd love to have a drink with her. As someone said upthread a bit, I get a feeling she'd be great fun and strikes me as fairly witty from her interviews.

I just hate, hate, hate how overexposed and commoditised her children are. I find it really gross. But this is really a great bugbear of mine, I'm flabbergasted that the entire range of arts, entertainment and fashion industries have seemingly been handed over to celebrity offspring - lock, ,stock and barrel.

It's bizarre to me how Brooklyn Beckham is a celebrity in his own right. I'm sure he's a nice kid, but he just strikes me as thoroughly ordinary in every possible way.

biscuitraider · 20/05/2018 14:35

Probably best if she'd stayed at home then. We've probably all been out on occasions when we've felt down or been worried about something. However most of us manage to put on a bright face, especially if it was for wedding snaps. Personally i'd never be so rude to convey such notable misery at a wedding.

But why are people so certain that she was down about something, doesn't she always look like that.

HingleMcCringleberry · 20/05/2018 14:40

This all feels a bit ‘cheer up love, give us a smile.’ You’d be fucked off if someone said this to you on the street, so I’m not sure why it’s alright to say it about a celebrity. She’s not there to entertain you.

Pa1oma · 20/05/2018 14:43

No, if a well-known man was walking into a wedding with the same desolate expression, people would notice in the same way.

surferjet · 20/05/2018 14:49

Funny how she only had that miserable look when she knew the cameras were on her.
She seemed smiley ‘off camara’
Maybe she did it on purpose? you know, to get people talking about her.
Certainly worked.

Whisky2014 · 20/05/2018 14:53

I agree surfer, its all for show.

StripySocksAndDocs · 20/05/2018 14:54

James Cordon had a right face on him during the cello music. There's been so many threads about him I can't count them.

Pa1oma · 20/05/2018 14:57

I'm not sure surfer and willow because yes, as you say, the "pout" is her trademark, but yesterday she looked genuinely close to tears. It usually looks affected, but not this time.

Plus, DB was very rudely striding along too fast and paying no attention to the fact she had heels on and struggling over cobbles.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/05/2018 14:59

biscuitraider So all the celebs you don't actually know but think you do that are smiling at every photo opportunity are blissfully happy with not a care in the world then?

Of course you don't know that.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/05/2018 15:04

Maybe she did it on purpose? you know, to get people talking about her.

What being unkind about her, saying awful comments about how she parents her children and the state of her marriage.

Yeah sure she looked unhappy on purpose.

Luisa27 · 20/05/2018 15:08

I don’t ‘know’ her at all, but do see her out and about regularly.
A few weeks ago we were sitting at the next table in our local pub garden to Victoria, kids, and her parents - she genuinely is really lovely...giggly, tactile and very animated. Seen her out with David too at various places and they both seem happy, relaxed and ‘into’ each other.
This thread has a really horrid undertone - mostly based on supposition and heresay - not nice

Pratchet · 20/05/2018 15:10

Wasn't she unhappy about being in the cheap seats, but reassured and more relaxed when she saw Elton and JC were also in the cheap seats.
