To not give a sh*t about the royal wedding?

Just that really. People at work shoving it down your throats, all over TV, in the news, literally everywhere! AIBU to not actually care and think there’s more important things going on in the world?

What royal wedding?

UserV · 18/05/2018 21:36

Don't watch it then FFS! Hmm

welcometothenuttyhouse · 18/05/2018 21:36

I'm with you on this! It's great they are getting married, very happy for them... but I don't know them so I don't need all the details!

FullOfJellyBeans · 18/05/2018 21:37

I don't care either but I really haven't found it that hard to just ignore it. Honestly if it makes some people happy I'm fine with that.

Jotribiani · 18/05/2018 21:38

Oh don’t worry I’m not planning on going watching it UserV just stating a point is very OTT and shoved down people’s throats FFS Wink

Apparently now Charles is going to walk down the aisle dressed as a tampon, so that will be exciting.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/05/2018 21:39

and you start a thread about it. Just incase we aren't bored enough. WinkMind you i am contributing to the thread, so I guess we're evenGrin

summercat · 18/05/2018 21:39

If you 'don't give a shit' about the royal wedding as much as you claim, and think there are 'so many other important things going on in the world to talk about', then why don't you post about those things, instead of posting about the one thing you claim you are not interested in?

Daft. Wink

FaFoutis · 18/05/2018 21:40

I wasn't interested until I heard about the tampon.

ShirleyPhallus · 18/05/2018 21:41

Yes, nothing says “I don’t give a shit” about something like STARTING A FUCKING THREAD ABOUT IT

Jotribiani · 18/05/2018 21:41

To start a thread because I’m bored on my Friday night Grin summercat

This wasn’t a serious dig at the royals just light hearted

There's always something more important going on in the world though, no matter what it is, so that argument is naff.

Plus people are capable of enjoying something whilst in the full knowledge that there's a lot of crap happening elsewhere.

Do you stop yourself doing things you enjoy 'because there's always something more important going on in the world?"Confused

Yanbu to not give a fig, but Yabu in your post.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 18/05/2018 21:43

It isn’t everywhere though, it’s not like when Charles and Diana married and there were three TV channels and no internet. My DDs been off school ill today so we’ve watched a lot of TV, between Netflix and YouTube we’ve not seen a single thing about it. I read the news online, I can pick and chose which stories I want to read, and right now the top story on the bbc isn’t the wedding anyway. It’s really not that hard to avoid it if you want to.

AnalUnicorn · 18/05/2018 21:49

Don’t worry - from next week it will be World Cup football non stop for 3 weeks.

DangerMouse17 · 18/05/2018 21:51

Nobody at work has mentioned it to me.

Funny how much vitriol is being spouted elsewhere though. Some folk really need to get a grip.

If you aren't interested, talk to different people or change the subject.

Longdistance · 18/05/2018 21:52

I’m going shopping. It’s going to be me and hopefully some tumble weed.

Laineymc7 · 18/05/2018 21:52

You are thinking enough about it to post a thread. I’m rather excited to watch it.

Twounder1 · 18/05/2018 21:53

Here here.

Can't wait til it's over.

SilverySurfer · 18/05/2018 21:54

Fascinating OP, thanks so much for sharing [zzzzzzz]

tigercub50 · 18/05/2018 21:58

I’m not really fussed although I do want to see the dress. Surprised DD’s school haven’t done anything.

PeppermintPasty · 18/05/2018 22:05

I absolutely genuinely said to my friend "what wedding?" this morning when he wished me a good weekend "if I could avoid the wedding".

I was quite disappointed when I realised, I thought there might be a big wedding going on in my village and I'd somehow missed the gossip and not been invited

But yes, I give no f**ks either. And happily, I appear to work with a bunch of similar minded curmudgeons as nobody mentioned anything about it at work today. Hurrah!

hazyhazza · 18/05/2018 22:11

Yet here you are Grin

Flomper · 18/05/2018 22:13

I am totally disinterested too. Good luck to them etc but I don't really care.
