depending on where you look ‘normal’ is between 21-31% apparently.

I thought mine would be quite low but still within normal. But I’ve just done it and it’s 30%!

I dread to think. Probably 180% BlushGrin

I've gained a lot of weight in the past few months and look like a space hopper on stilts.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/05/2018 15:39

No idea, how do you find out?

Fruitcorner123 · 16/05/2018 15:39

how do you find out?

JenBarber · 16/05/2018 15:40

No idea.

I put on a lot of weight after starting prozac and I don't think knowing the exact % will be at all helpful.

BasinHaircut · 16/05/2018 15:41

We have a fancy machine at work where you hold the handles and it tells you.

OP posts:
Helspopje · 16/05/2018 15:41

Was 12-14%
Not bad for an over 40s woman and why I could be 68kg but still only a size 8
After a year of ill health it is now 42% (weep).

ShowOfHands · 16/05/2018 15:42

17%

CorianderDestroysFamilies · 16/05/2018 15:43

15.5% but it used to be 29%

NotARegularPenguin · 16/05/2018 15:43

30%. My bmi is just obese at 30 but I have a higher percentage of muscle than the average person according to the fancy gym scales. I do lift a lot of weights.

NotARegularPenguin · 16/05/2018 15:44

But yes I do need to get my fat down while continuing to increase muscle.

Penners99 · 16/05/2018 16:07

13%. Male 60yo

Sweetlullaby · 16/05/2018 16:09

Mines is 23% at a size 10, i work out most days too

breastfeedingdrivingmecrazy · 16/05/2018 16:12

Those machines are notoriously inaccurate. A dexa scan is the best thing to do to measure.

parklives · 16/05/2018 16:15

Got a bad feeling mine is around 40%. (I am on a diet Grin)

AlbertaSimmons · 16/05/2018 16:16

Less than 20% body fat for a woman is very low. Between 20% and 25% would be pretty good. You need the body composition scan to tell you that with any accuracy, the machines at the gym are helpful but not if you're serious about your training.

LemonysSnicket · 16/05/2018 16:54

23, my metabolic age is 18. Tbf I’m only 23 and my muscles put on mass v easily. My DP was 17% and Metabolic age of 14!! He’s a 23yo man!

haverhill · 16/05/2018 16:55

I’m guessing 90.

LemonysSnicket · 16/05/2018 16:56

Sorry meant to say 23% at the beginning. I also don’t exercise though with the impressive % above I feel I should take up running so I can keep up!

goingonabearhunt1 · 16/05/2018 16:58

I did this once at the gym and mine was 29/30 I think. My BMI is normal and I eat well (mostly) and exercise so not sure why it's so high. They did say my muscle was quite high also though which surprised me.

Aeroflotgirl · 16/05/2018 16:59

Mine is 22% last measured on one of those things 2 months ago. I am 5ft 2, 65kg and work out for an hour a day. Kickboxing, bootcamp, HIit, Tabata. I also have cut down my portion sizes so I eat off a child's plate. If I want a toast, I have mini breads, not full size.

goingonabearhunt1 · 16/05/2018 17:00

All the women in my family are apple shaped and seem to put on weight round the middle v easily despite active lifestyles/healthyish diets so maybe it's partly genes. Well that's what I tell myself anyway Grin

swingofthings · 16/05/2018 17:00

Late 40s, 'only' 8 1/2 stone, fit and quite muscular, but my fat level is 30%! I do like my carbohydrates a lot more than my proteins!!

swingofthings · 16/05/2018 17:02

This is quite interesting because I'm the same height, but more than 10 kilos lighter, yet 30% fat. How does that work?

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 16/05/2018 17:04

26.6%. Apparently I should be 12.3% for my age Sad

ColinsVeryJolly · 16/05/2018 17:08

Dread to think.

Possibly around 99% Grin
