Sick of my colleagues quoting Friends?

The tv show. I loved the show as much as the next person.

But honestly they quote something from it every day. It’s just not funny hearing it repeated and it’s so old!

It’s on Netflix. Rewatch it and rekindle the love.

PIVOT!

chickenowner · 04/05/2018 17:41

WE WERE ON A BREAK!!

(Sorry) Grin

EllenJanethickerknickers · 04/05/2018 17:41

Think yourself lucky. My DS2 keeps quoting from The IT Crowd. Sigh...

DickensianHysteric · 04/05/2018 17:42

Could you BE any more unreasonable?!
Do I work with you?

Cantthinkofanoriginalname1 · 04/05/2018 17:43

I think it's a "moo point"!!! 🐄

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/05/2018 17:43

Me and Dd16 do this constantly Grin
I Love it, especially as she was only 1 when it ended.

MazDazzle · 04/05/2018 17:43

We shout ‘pivot!’ every time we move furniture also ‘to me, to you’ Chuckle Brothers style. Grin

I think Friends is one of the last pop culture references that most people can relate to.

chickenowner · 04/05/2018 17:43

Moo point Grin

EnglishRose13 · 04/05/2018 17:43

Oh. My. God.

Auntyirene · 04/05/2018 17:44

I wish I could, but I don't want to (I'm your colleague)

parrotonmyshoulder · 04/05/2018 17:44

Reminds me of school days with everyone quoting Blackadder!
DH and I do this with a couple of TV shows we love...but never out of the house and in public hearing!

Powerglide · 04/05/2018 17:44

Snappy one liners, sure. But they real off massive dialogues ... and it’s just not funny.

They were doing it way before it aired on Netflix.

BrightonCalling doesnt share food!

Fluffyears · 04/05/2018 17:46

I love quoting friends, probably cos I know it so well. I love a Rachel phrase ‘yesterday I was rock bottom, today there is rock bottom, 50 feet of crap and then me!’ I say quite often ‘yep rock bottom 50 feet of crap then me!’

happypoobum · 04/05/2018 17:47

How you doing? Grin

halfwitpicker · 04/05/2018 17:47

Total shite.

Get them to quote Seinfeld instead.

Smeddum · 04/05/2018 17:47

@Fluffyears I love that one too!

Along with “oh I’m sorry, did my back hurt your knife?”

Likejellytots88 · 04/05/2018 17:50

As much as I want to quote something like PP have, I completely understand you! I had a friend who used to quote Friends in every situation, drove me nuts and I actually avoided watching the program so I couldn't 'catch up on the latest episode' with her! I pulled her up on it once with another friend who couldn't stand it and she actually started crying! Because it was her favourite thing ever and she wanted to include it in her life (her words!) I don't hang out with her anymore for this and other reasons, but mainly this!! She's a nutcracker! There is no need to quote Friends that much or often ever!

chickenowner · 04/05/2018 17:50

Santa Claus's Pants.

troodiedoo · 04/05/2018 17:50

I hate it so I would raise a grievance with hr if this kept happening in my office.

Fluffyears · 04/05/2018 17:52

@smeddum ooh I forgot that one 👍🏼

Smeddum · 04/05/2018 17:53

@Fluffyears it’s a good one, not often remembered! I like the more unknown ones rather than the usual oldies.

And I can’t hear the word asleep without hearing it in Rachel’s voice! “You fell asleeeeep?”

Sparkletastic · 04/05/2018 17:53

Supposably

MeanTangerine · 04/05/2018 17:55

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know - if homo sapiens really were homo sapiens, is that why they're extinct?

Fluffyears · 04/05/2018 17:57

@smeddum I always think of ‘gross mascara goop’ when trying to get my eye make up off lol
