I used to really like her and i still really like her music but since the whole adoption/attention seeking thing, she really annoys me. The reason i am writing this is because i heard someone say yesterday about how she built her fortune on promoting casual sex and leading teenagers to be premiscious yet with her own kids she doesn't expose them to any form of sex/violence of any kind. Its just been bugging me.

I'm sure she does, Icing, like all of us do to some degree. Don't we all want our children to be better than us?

SM: That's because there's no better band-aid baby than an adopted-international-pseudo-orphan-band-aid-baby!

ScottishMummy · 15/05/2007 16:55

paulaplumpbottom - LOL

my sentiments exactly - keep em coming

nailpolish · 15/05/2007 16:56

i wish i was 22! cant remember it much...

this is completely bitchy but i think Madonaa is looking rough these days

pale and torn-faced

(speaks miss perfect here )

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 16:57

I think she may be over doing it abit

She was 34 when she did Erotica but she didn't have Lourdes til she was about 38. Becoming a mum settles you down and all your priorities change.

AnnieOleTing · 15/05/2007 16:59

She's coming up for 49! She looks better than me...

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 17:00

So was the leatard thing her way of settling down?

OP posts:
AnnieOleTing · 15/05/2007 17:01

if you got it, flaunt it (at 49)

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 17:02

I saw her in Concert last year

AnnieOleTing · 15/05/2007 17:03

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 17:03

I was about to pop!

I thought she looked the best she ever had at about 40. She's looking bad now though. Although, she would probably look a LOT better if she stopped wearing pink leotards.

ThatBeetroot · 15/05/2007 18:13

she is happy for her kids to hear bad language.

whywhywhy · 15/05/2007 18:45

she looks far too thin and it makes her face appear haggard.

She's a total hypocrite as Icing says- boy toy to Lady of the Manor with her kids at a French speaking school.

She always seemed to me less of a person, more a massive profit-making Going Concern.

Did anyone see the Harry Enfield sketch last night with her twirling around in her pink leotard and kicking Guy in the nuts for having a 'cockney fit'?

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 20:09

Exactly whywhywhy. Its a case of kids can be as permiscuous as they like- as long as my kids don't do it. She wasn't so concerned about young girls being sexual and wearing daring clothes when it suited her to make a few bucks.

ScottishThistle · 15/05/2007 20:16

This thread is highly amusing I have to say!

Don't we all do things we'd rather our children didn't do???

I wish I looked half as good in a pink leotard!

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 20:24

i see what your saying, but most of us who has a past and don't want our kids to follow suit, haven't tried to gain world domination and send out a message to young girls that we should embrace casual sex etc to make our fortune then preach its not right to do this to your own kids.

OP posts:
chocolattegirl · 15/05/2007 20:32

It could be harder for Madonna to hide her past from her kids than anyone of us though . It is hypocritical of her but then Angelina Jolie (another third-world adopter) bangs on about violent films just she's about to make a new one .

IcingOnTheCake · 15/05/2007 20:38

Well one day when her kids are grown up they will find out about her and everything she has done. They may also ask the question 'why have you sheltered us and told us we must act like saints when your not exactly the virgin mary'.

Nightynight · 15/05/2007 21:30

I said that on MN about 2 years ago, Icing!
completely agree, I was nauseated by the way Madonna blatantly made money out of encouraging young girls to have casual sex, and then we find that she treats her own children differently.

She is acting like a reformed rake of course, but the difference is that she didnt just mis-spend her youth and learn from her mistakes, she made a lot of money out of encouraging teenagers to mis-spend theirs. And she still does, while apparently maintaining a different face to her own children.

ScottishThistle · 16/05/2007 10:12

I think you're all being a bit hard on her to be honest.

Madonna didn't encourage me or any of my peers into casual sex!...Do you blame her for your past sexual behaviour???

GiantSquirrelSpotter · 16/05/2007 10:37

I think it's a bit startling to blame Madonna for young girls having casual sex

Girls were already having casual sex. The only influence she had, was to let them know that it didn't matter if hypocritical people called them sluts for doing it.

She wasn't promoting casual sex per se: she was promoting the idea that if someone called you a slut for doing it, you didn't need to worry about their opinion.

oliveoil · 16/05/2007 10:43

Well I think she will probably be a fanatastic mother.

Been there, done that, she will be open with her children imo (disclaimer: I do not know if she has done drugs to any lawyers watching)

I have done lots of stuff and when the time comes for my two to experiment, hopefully we will have a good enough relationship to talk. At least I will know what I am on about.

she needs to give the leotards and the flicky hair a rest though, ffs
